Whoops! and introduction

Thursday, January 27th, 2005

Hello all,
I want to take a minute to introduce myself and to apologize. My 4 year old
son William (almost 5) is a little computer whiz and sent something to the
list that was just a combination of letters. I did not know it until I
received the email via the list myself. My name is Jocelyn, I am 41 years
old and I am getting started on ER4YT. I am the mother of twins, William and
Tatiana, who will be 5 in January and live in MA. I do not have any major
health problems except some extra weight but want to get healthier and also
want to avoid some family health problems like diabetes, fibromyalgia,
arthritis, and high blood pressure. I have restarted an exercise program, I
take a dance class once a week and go to the gym 1-2 times a week, but want
to do more. I am a Type O positive, I do not know my secretor status yet. I
look forward to learning from all of you and will monitor William’s
contributions to the list!:)

Molasses - been wondering

Thursday, January 27th, 2005

Hi Again,
I don’t really know what molasses is and why it is OK for nonnies while
virtually all other forms of sugar are not. I seldom use it - need educating.
Is there a place where Peter or anyone else gives the rationale behind the
avoids, beneficials. I know some are based on lectins and some relate to the
health conditions that the particular blood type has a propensity towards.
Thanks, Ann

Sciatica - Questions

Thursday, January 27th, 2005

I have read all the mail re sciatica and now I am wondering whether this is
what is wrong with me. Please tell me: I have this persistent lame pain in
my right lower back, sometimes it causes a lame feeling going down my right
leg, sometime even so far as around me heel. Is this sciatica?
Then, for the time being while I am waiting to get more order info on the
Zyflamend I have found the following: A powder to be taken twice daily with
the following ingredients per daily serving:
Chondroitin Sulphate: 700mg
Glucosamine: 1000mg
EFA: 1500mg (don’t know what this is)
Rooibos Tea Bio-Extract: 100mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid: 40mg
MSM: 3000mg
Calcium Carbonate: 2000mg (elemental calcium 800mg)
Complete multi vitamins: R200mg
(more…)

Sciatica - Suggestions

Yes, you could die from OD on potassium. Also known as hyperkalemia, potassium
is an electrolyte that affects the heart. Too
much can - and does - cause cardiac arrhythmias.

New Blood Type Vitamins/Supplements

Wednesday, January 26th, 2005

This one’s for you Thomas (and Kathy)….
Apparently NAP has come out with their own line of blood type vitamins and
supplements and no longer sells the New Chapter blood type line. Have you
had any experience with the new products? Will you continue to sell both?
Do you have any inside scoop on why the change?

grapeseed oil

Tuesday, January 25th, 2005

Hi everyone,
In my search for a mayonnaise I saw one yesterday with grapeseed oil. Does
anyone know anything about grapeseed oil? I know if it’s not in the lists
we are to consider it a neutral, but non-secretors have fewer neutrals than
secretors.
It’s so great to have so much collective wisdom available! I look forward
to seeing what you know.

Wimp has a sore throat -

Tuesday, January 25th, 2005

Hi all you experts, dead or alive!
I have a sore throat today and as an O with a strong immune system, this is very
unusual for me. In fact I probably haven’t had a cold in 10 years or more.
In the past I might have taken some echinacea and increased Vit C a bit but what
do I do now (post ER)? I am taking lots of fluids . Will light exercise make it
better- getting the lymphatic system moving- or worse?
Thanks, the Wimp O ns
P.S: Hubby is A ns and really sick with sore throat and bad cough. He has had
this for a week but been away and unable to slow his pace until now. I am sure
we will both recover in due course.

Digest Number 864

Tuesday, January 25th, 2005

Christi, I just went back into the files and added your additional
information on Nori. Hope that’s okay.
Love the recipes would love to get your book when it comes
out. It would be great to get it on CD or something so I can
search.
Wow! Thanks for the vote of confidence. I hadn’t thought that far ahead.
So far, I am just collecting and adapting as many recipes as I can find into
three ring notebooks. And sharing in the files here of course. Will let you
all know if it goes further than that. :-) Betsy
P.S. I posted the honey lime chicken for whoever asked for it. You all are
inspiring me to keep at this research!
