Mixing meds and supplements

I have a similar problem in Minnesota in the winter. Once the heat
comes on I add a humidifier to my bedroom. If I’m around the house -
like on weekends - I boil a big pot of water on the stove to put
moisture back into the air. This helps, in particular with things
like nasal passages. That seems to be the first place I feel it. I
keep saline nasal spray handy for the dry, winter months. The
moisture is necessary to ward off any potential invaders.
I’d also suggest you look at the amount of water and essential fatty
acids you consume. Last winter I found that I didn’t have chapped
lips when I was consuming enough water, essentially keeping the body
hydrated from the inside out. Same with dry skin. The dry winter
months allows more water to escape from the body, requiring more
frequent replenishment.

    Michele:
I found out about the blood type diet from my Dad’s wife who had CFS for 6
or 7 years, seen every specialist, every diet, deep sinus surgery etc.
She got a optimized version of the ERFYT administered to her by a homeopath
doctor - this enabled her recover from homebound and jobless for at least 4
years and in a wheelchair to returning to work full-time for a global relief
agency - she now travels worldwide.
If you email me privately, I would be happy to put the two of you in touch.

Interesting that you ask that - I have been taking half doses of Probiotic-O
and Daily Herbs (due to budget restrictions as a starving filmmaker) and am
not taking O-vitamins. I take a buffered C and B-complex that gets me about
half of the stuff in the NAP O formula.
However, I used to always have athelete’s foot on my left foot and when I
read you email, I realize it’s been gone for quite a while. Not sure if this
is why. I’ve been taking them for about 6 months and probably been about
that long, but I’m also not playing racquetball for the same period as well
    because of my wrist injury.
If you have more info on why Probiotic-O would help athlete’s foot, I would
    be interested.

and taking vitamin/mineral supplements (B-complex, chromium,
magnesium, zinc) along with the supplements suggested by DR D’Adamo in
the Live Right book (L-tyrosine, L-glutamine, Dr D’s B12, Rhodiola,
Lipoic Acid), not all worked as I discovered with 5-HTP.
    Steve,
Can you elaborate on which supplements didn’t work with 5-HTP? What
    was your experience?
    Thanks,

    Dear Ossss,
Reread the thought below, it is so true. For years I was on overcharge, had
no choice, worked full time, single mom, college full time, no time for
exercise or proper nutrition and now I am basically housebound, almost
bedbound, have dx’s that would put you to sleep trying to read them all, and
am trying to crawl back to health with the help of this list and my doctor.
So, Please, Please, find time to exercise properly and eat healthy.
Hugs, Michele, currently unable to work and on SSDI for over 6 yrs. and
    expect to stay that way.

Dear Michele, thanks for the reminder about exercise- it is so true!
Now, I feel empathy for you in your situation and understand on some level what
    you are going through BUT
So much in terms of illness is soooo connected with the mind. I am uncomfortable
with your statement ” and expect to stay that way” . What you think is what you
will get! There are many good books on the Mind/Body connection and several have
been mentioned in posts lately right here on this board especially by myself and
    by Karen.
I know you are fighting hard and we had the discussion re what a lot of meds
can do - Axel’s been there - but I urge you to do some reading and thinking re
the Mind connection. The mind is such a powerful healer that none of us can
    afford to overlook.
I hope you will do some affirmations, post signs reminding yourself that you are
    getting better!
I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery.Olease keep us to date on your

progress. I am sending you healing energy - and no, I am not a kook. Nonlocal
healing and prayer are phenomenon (sp?) that are now proven in many studies!
