Kathy Matthews: Anti-virals
I have found various solutions to back pain that are very helpful as I
myself get “neck lock-up” if I do not follow these procedures and can’t even
drive a car when that happens. Here is a list of things to do/take. But
first of all I want to explain that the discs are NOT hard plates. They are
like sacs of jelly and can be repaired with help of diet.
- There is a product called Hernidisc made from the company Eagle which
helps repair the disc
- I take a high dose magnesium - but one especially for muscles called
“Ultra Muscle-ease” by the company, Bio-Ceuticals. This is brilliant. One
teaspoon of nice tangy flavoured powder in juice. This has been one of THE
most helpful things. If I miss my daily dose for a few days, I’m ruined!
- I have recently discovered “Pain Relief Patches” These I think are made
by “Blackmores”. These are probably the most unusual and amazingly simple
thing you will see in medicine. They are “stickers” in all different sizes.
Apparently inside them is a special type of ceramic that puts IR heat into
your muscle. They last up to 3 days and I have put all my (originally
sceptical) friends onto them. They are true life savers when my neck is bad
and are so easy - just find exactly where the pain is coming from and stick
it on!
- Of course you have all your physical therapies such as regular massage,
hot-water bottles, gentle exercise, etc.
The common problem with backs and necks is that it usually stems from the
nerves. The nerves have standing waves of electricity in them, which in
turn causes the muscles to tense up, which in turn pulls the bones structure
out of place - so you have to treat the nerves, most commonly.
Let me know how you get on!

Sarah,
This is the tricky part. I live in Australia so you may not be able to get
them. What I will do is make a list of the nutrients of both and you can
take it to your HFS and get the closest possible.
You may find that if you ask them for some, they may even have them or
something that does a simular job. Both of the ones I mentioned are kept
behind the counter and are only brought out if you ask for them or if a
Naturopath prescribes them.
