EGGS/Meat vs. vegetarianism

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

Eggs and Meat are on the beneficial list for “Os”, but they’re high in
cholesterol. Shouldn’t I be limiting my intake of these, eventho’ they are
supposed to be the most beneficial?
I’d especially like to hear testimonials from former vegetarians like
myself, who switched to this program.

Nut/Seed smoothie recipie

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

This type of thing is so basic I didn’t even bother or
think to mention it. The amount of water depends
entirely on the person making the smoothie. Do you like
your nut/seed smoothies thick or thin? Therein lies the
answer. There is one more thing… Flax. Flax is a
special case. As soon as flax comes into contact with
water it becomes gooey, it secretes a gel, this gel that
is a part of the flax phenomena is very special, I think
this is part of the reason why it is so beneficial for
us, especially Os who eat lots of meat. The fiber in the
flax helps bulk up our stools, and the gel takes it a
step further and lubricates our intestines, healing and
easing the passage of other foods through our GI tract.
Not to mention all that delicious omega 3 fatty acid,
which I’m sure is even more assimilable in the whole

Curious newbie/diabetes 2

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

Hi, Kitkat,
I’m in the same boat. Type 2 and a lot of weight to loose.
Have been on this diet for 3 years now and never found it boring. Concentrate
on what you CAN eat and not what you can’t.There is lots of food to choose from.
My problem is , I can’t seem to stick to the recommened portions, am always
hungry. But that is a sign of diabetes, isn’t it ?
I’m a lifer for this diet, It is not too hard to stick with the food choices,
since I never was much of a trashfood eater to begin with. My MD says if I loose
the weight I might not need any medications, so I’m going to work on this
seriously now.
Try it for at least 3 -4 weeks and see how you feel. You might be pleasantly
surprised.
Have a nice day,
Emmi

question Re: Nut/Seed smoothie recipie

Thank you for the recipe. Do you use water for the liquid, if so how much
water?

Man oh man! I’ve just eaten two mouthfuls of my latest
experiment, and wowee is it good!
I am a big fan of seaweed, and I just got around to
putting it into an egg dish. I had some “rough” nori,
really it is called laver. Not the pressed paper thin
squares used for making nori rolls (sushi), I mean the
rough cut kind of circular unpressed laver seaweed. I
rinsed it briefly under running water and with the slimy
seaweed in hand proceeded to chop it into manageable
pieces. I then threw it onto a saute pan slicked up with
some chicken grease and oil from the accumulated
drippings of a roasted happy chicken. About a teaspoon
each of chicken grease and chicken oil (it seperated
into three layers overnight). While that was cooking and
drying I cut up two large scallions, bottom six inches

Curious newbie

Sunday, September 19th, 2004

Hi All,
I’m just new to all this. I’m O+ myself and have read & seen some
some stories regarding ER4YT but have never tried it myself. I’ve
looked at Dr D’s site but I’ve still got a few concerns with it all.
At the time I felt it was no sense in buying these books if I was not
going to be serious and committed to the program.
I’m from Australia and have a lot of weight to loose as well as
having some health problems such as type 2 Diabetes.
It’s gotten to the point that I don’t want to loose weight, I have to
loose weight.
I’m a fussy eater as some might say, and I am worried that I may not
like the food for my type. If I eat the same stuff all the time I
get bored easy and give up.
Is there, or was there, anyone out there that is, or was, in the same
situation as I’m in? Can anyone help me or give me some options at
