REPLY TO CURIOUS NEWBIE ABOUT DIABETES
I was diagnosed with diabetes June of 1997. I was and had been 242
pounds for quite some time. I am 5 ‘ 8″ tall and considered large
boned. I was off and on with the ER plan. The most weight I lost
previously on ER was 37 pounds in 6 months. I combined ER with low
carb/high protein and have kept it up for 7 ½ months. I have lost 58
pounds. I have gone from a size 24 blouse or dress to a size 16
Misses. My pant size went from a size 20W to a 12 Misses.
I was taken off my diabetic medication in May and am feeling better
than ever. My cholesterol has gone from 212 to 170. I eat a lot of
beef too. My diet doesn’t vary much. Meat and salad, salad and meat,
an occasional egg and LOTS of water. When I feel hungry I drink more
water and eat more beef!
Hey, did you know Marilyn Monroe was a size 14? I’m on my way!

P.S. Craving sweets is an indicator sometimes that you are diabetic
are just a carboholic! Unquenchable thirst, wounds slow to heal,
itching, are more common indicators. Sometimes changes in vision. I
know if I ingest too much sugar I have trouble reading, my vision goes
blurry.
