Secretors vs. NON-Secretors

Wednesday, September 29th, 2004

I’m starting to think, to do this program correctly, I need to know whether
I’m a secretor or non.
Did everyone here on the “O” list do the secretor/non test? If so, did
you do it through Dr. D’s website?
thanks,

LDL Cholesterol

Tuesday, September 28th, 2004

I’ve been changing from my high-cab diet to high protein diet. Yesterday,
I went for a blood test…. the result had become worsen. My LDL
cholesterol went up from 4.5 mmol/l to 5.3 mmol/l. , my HDL remain the
same (1.25 mmol/l). I’ve been following “the food for your blood type” diet
plan but it seems not working. Now I have lost hope, devastating…….. If
protein diet is so highly recommended why it is still elevating (LDL)?

A confession (was: But I don’t like broccoli

Monday, September 27th, 2004

from chumboods@…:
<<So you love your bread! The smoker tells me he loves his cigarettes, the
cocaine addict loves his drug. You are probably a bread addict. Make no
mistake, high density carbohydrates are addicting- different ones affect
different people. If it’s pasta, doughnuts, candy, soft drinks, french
fries, whatever-you’re getting certain consequences from that addiction.
They include obesity, high blood sugar, higher cholesterol, higher blood
pressure, lower energy and many others. You get to choose your
consequences.
my response:
Hello. My name is Dianne and I am a drug addict. My drug is sugar and
high-density carbohydrates. Make no mistake, I have come to understand that
I am no less an addict than an alcoholic or narcotics abuser.
For five months I have been on a low-carbohydrate (no grains or sugars, one
fruit per day), lower-fat (olive oil and healthier oils ok in moderation)

But I don’t like broccoli !!!

Live Foods = enzymes

Monday, September 27th, 2004

In my opinion, just my opinion, ok?
If we include
High Beneficial/neutral RAW veggies and fruit
as much as possible
in our menu … along with the cooked protein (Meats,Fish, etc) foods,
we would be healthy.
I have to keep reminding myself to include some kind of H.B.
and some raw veggie with each meal……it’s getting easier to
remember now because I’ve decided that it is EASY.
Adding a “Live” Food = live enzymes.
Love & Peace to all,
Gaye

Breakfasts/food combining/body cycles

Monday, September 27th, 2004

Okay, one last post! I’ve been trying to watch my food combining and
from what I have read in the food combining literature, it is
suggested to have a lighter breakfast, preferably fruit and fruit
juices until late morning because our body is in its “detoxification
cycle.” Apparently from noon until 8pm our bodies are in
an “appropriation” cycle when they are prepared to consume foods. Do
you all think that a high protein meal in the a.m. is too much for
our digestive systems to handle? I wonder if as an O it would work to
eat lighter HB fruits in the a.m and get our protein from
nuts/seeds/meats the rest of the day. Has anyone experimented with
this?
Thanks again!

Kefir

Monday, September 27th, 2004

I noticed Axel had mentioned drinking kefir occasionally. I would
really like to continue drinking kefir because of its amazing
benefits, but Dr. D has it listed as an avoid for O’s. I don’t seem
to have any reaction to it and wonder if drinking it once or twice a
week could be harmful. Again, this gets back to my frustration of
dairy as an avoid when I don’t have any symptoms/reactions to it that
I notice. I am not trying to lose weight, in fact, would like to gain
some, and I don’t think dairy is a lechticn issue? I have given up
dairy for long periods and don’t notice any reactions when I
incorporate it back into my diet. What do you all think?

eating/drinking-smoothie and salad?

Sunday, September 26th, 2004

Hi everyone,
What do you think about drinking a nut/seed smoothie with a salad?
That was my lunch yesterday and as I was eating realized I
was “drinking” with my meal. What do you think?
Thanks, Lisa
