thanks for nori info

Tuesday, August 24th, 2004

Thanks for the instructions. I’m going to try it. I’m trying to include more
seaweed in my diet and am glad to get ideas. I hadn’t considered using beef as a
filling for nori. I was thinking it had to be rice.
I use the meat as a base for several meals. For breakfast I cook the meat,
onions, and spices, then add whatever cooked green veggie I have on hand (I
usually cook extra for supper so I’ll have some for breakfast the next
morning.), and when the veggies are hot, I add several eggs. Sometimes I’ll
scramble the eggs first and make a frittata and sometimes I
just break the egg in the pan and let them stay somewhat “sunny side up.” For
lunch, I make a bed of HB greens and any other raw veggies I have on hand and
pour the cooked beef over it for something like a taco salad. Lately I’ve been
toasting pumpkin seeds and just as the seeds are starting to pop, I turn off the
heat and add small pieces of dulse to the
pot and let it toast, then add this to the taco salad. Sometimes in the past,
I’ve also toasted flax seeds with the pumpkin seeds.

secretor status

Tuesday, August 24th, 2004

While it *might* indicate your secretor status it also might not. It appears
you have an allergy to the food (or it could be
coincidence) but having an allergy is a separate factor that eating an avoid.
For example you can be allergic to a food that
is “typically” a beneficial for your blood type/sec status. The blood type
secretor status is additional information in the
complex human system… the immune system is another source of information… so
you need to take both into account. Blood
type says yes ok, immune says no… then its no. OKay…

ER4YT-O FLAX SEED BENEFIT FOR MEN

Monday, August 23rd, 2004

Flax Appeal
A few spoonfuls of flaxseed every day may have prostate-protective powers.
In a small study of men with prostate cancer, participants who followed a
low-fat diet that was supplemented with flaxseed appeared to have slower-growing
tumors than men who did not follow the flaxseed diet. More research is needed to
confirm the link, but in the meantime, adding flaxseed to your diet will boost
your intake of fiber and healthy fats.
RealAge Benefit: Eating a low-fat diet–and eating healthy unsaturated fats when
you do eat fat–can make your RealAge as much as 6 years younger

ER4YT-O Re:carbohydrates/Axel

Monday, August 23rd, 2004

Quite a lot of things turned out about you but one would be a key
information: your secretor status.
Let’s take it as a basis that we are all different people with different
health, etc. conditions. (Only blood type O is common.)
As for me I rarely see/feel the bodily consequences of what I eat or
maybe not immediately. So I find it funny when I read such reports,
but I believe you all.
I try to be very close to the O non-sec diet and I think it is
appropriate for me, because the problems I had back in December
1999 have subsided. I started to become stricter this May when I
learnt I am a non-sec. That’s when I cut out soy and spelt
completely and further lowered the amount of grains and lowered
the amount of dairy ( as it really should be zero for non-secs but I
can’t give up completely). There are some other items: apples
( why?), sage, which you use quite frequently, etc. that have

carbohydrates and muscles!

Saturday, August 21st, 2004

This post is about my real-world experience of
carbohydrates after following a low carbohydrate diet.
I started lowering my carbohydrates and opted for a
higher fat, adequate protein diet more in line with
the “Protein Power” plan from the Eades’ shortly after I
embraced meat-eating again. As an O, I gained weight,
filled-out, almost resuming my physiology since my
intense weight-training days (notice I said weight
training, not body-building, the two are not the same).
I have found all the benefits discussed in the various
Low Carb books to be quite true, which pleased me. I
feel like I’ve found a whole new world, dietarily
speaking. Of course, I had to see the other side of it,
eating myself into the dangerous world of excess carbs
which is so easy in this junk-food laden America.

ground meat goodness

Saturday, August 21st, 2004

As an adjunct to my sookha keema nori roll post, I would
like to share some recent ruminations on ground meat in
general. I have found the ground meat to be very
versatile of course. Another use for heart meat is as a
ground meat, it’s perfect for adding to ground, fattier
meats such as lamb; there are even grass-fed beef that
although natural and not “finished” in the feed-lot have
more fat than the typically lean grass-fed beef, it
depends on the breed of cattle and time of year they
were slaughtered. I use a mini-prep food processor to
grind my meat. It takes about 7-10 pulses to chop the
heart into a suitable grain of “ground”. Lamb heart is a
terrific way to make ground lamb leaner for example.
Other than sookha keema, I’ve been using some
ingredients with much success in my ground meats, and I
