Thursday, July 29th, 2004

Hi O’s! for chips just heat some olive oil in a skillet,,, wait till it
gets quite hot,,, then add thinly sliced sweet potatoes. turn over to cook
both sides well, then place on a paper towel to soak the excess oil and
spinkle them with sea salt while the are still hot. (better than the Terra
chips !) Leslie

sinus and constipation reply

Subject: Sinus / Constipation
I have been introduced to the Eat Right Diet in the beginning of this year
by a dietician I went to see as I was constantly suffering from sinus and
constipation. I am usually very good - I avoid the avoid’s! Saturday
this is what I do when I eat I avoids and get sinus problems….as for the
constipation, I’d say drink lots of water and eat fresh raw fruits and
veggies.
Sinus: for headache I take a cup of very strong expresso (yes, I know it’s
an avoid) and my headache disappears within 5 minutes. I also use a warm
saline solution in nasal passages via a “nasal douche” ($1.50 at the Rx) and
drink ginger tea. Ginger is good for the stomach (may help constipation) as
well. Also try to compensate by eating heavily from beneficials for a while.
I have just started to take Deflect which seems to prevent such severe avoid
reactions!

Subject: zucchini recipes

Wednesday, July 28th, 2004

here’s a great and simple zucchini recipe i use…..as a substitute for
PASTA……you can use any sauce. It’s similar to spaghetti squash when
cooked this way
Wash zucchini and trim ends. Using a potato peeler, turn that zucchini into
pasta-like threads.
Blanch in boiling water (1 min) or sauté in some olive oil and garlic.
Use with your favorite pasta sauce or just some additional garlic and grated
(compliant) cheese.
We love this, it’s a great way to have your Pasta and be healthy too!

Sinus / Constipation

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

I have been introduced to the Eat Right Diet in the beginning of this year
by a dietician I went to see as I was constantly suffering from sinus and
constipation. I am usually very good - I avoid the avoid’s! Saturday
however, I had to train several people with a new body product being
launched into the South African market soon, but I overslept slightly. This
resulted in me going to the training without breakfast and a lunchbox. So I
had avoids (wheat stuff and some milk). The result is sinus in its worst
form. My head is bursting under this pressure.
Now, is there any natural way that I can speed this detox up so that I can
get rid of this faster? I don’t want to take the sinus preparations as I
feel they just suppress it, actually causing it to last longer. Same with
my stomach. I don’t like laxatives etc. Are there someone out there with
some help? I would prefer you to give me ‘natural’ hints. The preparations
you get in the US and UK are mostly not available here so hints on those
won’t help much.

Dr D’s Taraxacum - all blood types

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

TARAXACUM PLUS DANDELION FORMULA Works Best In Types: A | B | O |
AB (All Types) 60 capsule per bottle.
While there’s little doubt about the tastiness of a dandelion leaf
salad or a glass of dandelion wine, this common plant has medicinal uses
as well. Once recommended for liver, kidney, and gallbladder problems,
it is best known as a mild laxative, an appetite stimulant, and a
diuretic. The leaves also contain high levels of potassium.
Many herbalists and naturopaths scoff at the lowly dandelion, as not
sufficiently ‘pharmaceutical-enough.’ This is
humbug. The plant helps modulate balance in the body better than
any other drug or herb I am aware of, in
addition to being a great source of minerals and aid to
detoxification.” -Peter D’Adamo ND

Dr D’s Catechol - O Blood Type

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

We’ve added Rhodiola to our Catechol formula Peter D’Adamo ND
Rhodiola rosea (Russian Rhodiola) This is a perennial plant
with red, pink, or yellowish flowers. It is no biological relation to
the “common” rose, but due to its similar fragrance it has been used as
a substitute for Attar of Roses. One of the greatest things Rhodiola
does is enhance mental and physical performance. It has been widely used
by Russian athletes and cosmonauts to increase energy. Rhodiola is
cardio-protective, normalising the heart rate immediately after intense
exercise. It improves nervous system and mental functions such as memory
by increasing blood-supply to the muscles and brain, and also increases
protein synthesis. Rhodiola rosea has extraordinary pharmacological
properties as an anti-mutagen and anti-depressive agent. In this respect
Rhodiola rosea is much more powerful than other adaptogens. In one
study done by O.M. Duhan and colleagues (4), the anti-mutagenic
activities of Panax Ginseng and of Rhodiola rosea were compared It
