Gestational Diabetes

Saturday, June 26th, 2004

Does anyone know about Gestational Diabetes and how the blood type diet would
affect it? I have co-worker (Type O) who has been diagnosed with it. They are
currently not on the blood type diet.

Subject: Green Tea? What about caffeine?
I have been one to avoid caffeine but after hearing the many benefits
of green tea, I am tempted to try it. Is there anyone who generally
avoids caffeine but has found that green tea is okay (i.e. doesn’t
lead to the panic and mood swings that can come with diet soda and
coffee consumption). I have heard of decaf brands but I know that
with decaffeination, alot of the benefits are lost or reduced.
Chris
Hi Chris,
I am decaffeinating for the umpteenth time right now and this time it’s from
green tea. I really enjoy the taste and it is MUCH more mild than the
alkaloids and caffeine in coffee. I am finding though that I really do best
without any caffeine at all. I have not yet tried the decaf. version of the

New to this Group

Hi everyone, I live in South Africa and have been on this diet for
approx. 3 weeks now. I am hypothyroid and therefore really battle to
lose weight. At the end of the first week I lost 1 kg, and
thereafter nothing. Another problem I have found, is that since
giving up High Fibre Bran for breakfast, I am getting more and more
constipated even though I drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
I don’t want to depend on laxatives but will if I have to! Ha ha.

Mouse problems

Friday, June 25th, 2004

Tabitha - I have had nearly the same problem a month ago. Are you using an
adaptor with your new mouse? Maybe to take it from USB to PS2 or even to
serial? All adaptors are not compatible with all hard drives it seems. To have
just your connector at the back of your machine changed won’t cost much at all.
Then you don’t need the adaptor - no problem left!
Try it. It took me four weeks of suffering before anyone could tell me what was
wrong.

Compliance

Friday, June 25th, 2004

You could eat however you like when you go out to dinner, but as you
mentioned, you will pay for it later with bodily pain. Just mention to your
hosts that you have very specific dietary needs and although the meal looks
great, you just can’t eat everything presented. When I first started this
diet, I was AMAZED at the many people who tried to “graciously” sabotage my
food lists with avoids. I just remained FIRM but polite, and they got the
idea. Now whenever I go out to friends for dinner, they have prepared
something just for me (like, a plain steak and a good green salad with
nothing on it and plain steamed broccoli — which I can eat by itself) and I
bring my own condiments.

Maybe the 3rd time’s the charm

I’ve tried 2 times before, but the message never reaches the list.
I want to know what ways you have figured out to dress up brocolli with HB
ingredients.
Thanks for your help (hope this makes it!)

Hi Julie,
I think someone on this list said that it is a neutral a while back. Does it
taste like beef? Just curious. . .

Compliance- Thomas

Thursday, June 24th, 2004

Hi Thomas,
When you say we should be 80%compliant - do you mean eating 20%
neutral or some avoids? I thought 100% compliant meant that you were
eating 0% avoids.
Thanks - sorry for being a pain.

Tuna

Hi,
I am looking for good “O” friendly tuna recipes. It is easy for me
to bring to work but I am having trouble finding ways to eat it.
Thanks.
