cultures/diets

Thursday, May 27th, 2004

Hi O’s,,, just thinking today about all the O people who’s diet’s suffered
over the years from eating things that didn’t correspond w/ their blood type.
and how their bodies couldn’t have been functioning at full capacity.
curious if the American Indians and Mexicans were predominantly A’s since
their diets are/were so rich in corn. And the Germans with their pork
sausage and beers, french w/ their pastries, greeks w/ their ouzo!, italians
w/ pastas, hawaiians w/ the pig roastings,,, etc. Guess most cultures have
had enough food to offset the avoids that they survive!
excuse my thinking out loud… Have a healthy day! Leslie

Sour Dough Starter

Wednesday, May 26th, 2004

Has anyone made a starter using the acceptable flours for ‘O’-blood types?
If so, would you make it the same way as regular flour starters are made?
Or is there a recipe already available.
It has just been in the past few years that Texas has had bread that is
somewhat like the sourdough that you get in California, and that is the one
food item that we really miss….it really helps a cheap meal!

Very Important - Aspartame!

Tuesday, May 25th, 2004

There are five strategies for vibrant health and longevity.
First of all, what you DO is important, such as taking
effective food supplements, drinking
pure water, eating whole (unprocessed food), etc. The second
thing you must do to insure your health (or recover it) has
to do with what you DON’T do–in other words, what you
AVOID. This message has to do with one example of the later,
with evidence from an unlikely source!
If a 6th grade student can prove aspartame that is used in
Diet drinks is poisonous, then why is the FDA ignoring it?
To assume that because it is so “little an amount” that it
is “not harmful” can be a disastrous and even fatal mistake
(as the ancient prophet spoke, “my people perish for a lack
of knowledge”).
If you drink this stuff, these insidious toxins can build

Convincing others/Rose

Tuesday, May 25th, 2004

I understand no harm was meant - and no harm was taken.
It is great to belong to this group and I learn day by day by reading
everybody’s thoughts.
Thanks to Sara for commenting on wheat grass, I will definitely try
to prepare Essene bread to have a beneficial change from rye
bread.
Does anyone have the recipe (maybe ingredient list) of Ezekiel? I
could not find it in the recipe base on the web site.
Thanks in advance.

Priming–and a question

Monday, May 24th, 2004

Hi.
I can’t put my finger on my copy of Potatoes not Prozac, but this is
how I understand priming. In terms of dynamics, priming is similar
to the action of SSRI’s in that when we haven’t had something for a
while, the brain sites that “receive” it shut down/diminish
somehow–and then when we have it again, even a little, the effect is
stronger than when we last had it, the crash (from withdrawal)is more
severe, and cravings set in to take care of the discomfort of
withdrawal.
This is part of why the conventional wisdom of “just a little won’t
hurt you” doesn’t apply in terms of food ensitivities, avoids,
triggers, etc.
And now the question: as someone who has effectively been addicted to
bread, if I eat an avoid in, say, the vegetable or fruit group, is
that likely to have less of a negative effect than the avoid carbs of
