    Hi Randee, Jerry, others,
I have been “lurking” on this list for a while now and have not yet read the
book or tried the diet. I have been following a hypoglycemic diet for the
past 5 months as I was diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia this summer.
Regarding low adrenal function, which I was told that I had, one of the
blood tests that my endocrinologist ran was on my cortisol level. As far as
symptoms go, signs of low adrenal function include lights bothering you,
needing to squint outside more than normal, blood sugar problems (including
hypoglycemia - faintness, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, there’s more
but that’s some of the more frequent symptoms). As far as treatment goes, I
and my endocrinologist both agree that following a hypoglycemic diet (see
the books by Krimmel) which includes eliminating all forms of sugars,
anything with white flour, starchy foods (potatoes, corn, rice, pasta),
caffeine, and alcohol, as well as attempting to minimize stress, and
including moderate exercise has helped me tremendously. Stress, high

carbohydrate (starch & sugars) diets, caffeine and alcohol all cause the
adrenal glands to be overworked and thus, lose their ability to function
properly. My last bloodwork showed my cortisol levels to be at the high end
of normal now and I am feeling much better. My kinesiologist also had me
taking some raw adrenal supplements along with some other raw glandulars for
about 4-6 weeks. All the B vitamins are extremely important as well. My
endocrinologist had me stop taking the raw glandulars as he said my body
would start to depend on them when it should be learning to work properly on
its own. I must say, however, that the raw glandulars did get me over the
hump towards a faster recovery than the diet was doing alone. Well, there’s
a long answer for you. Good luck on your road to health.

    Hi Liberty
Your article was very interesting indeed. I suffer from low adrenal cortical
insufficiency as well and read with interest what you had to say. My
cortisol level was 247 mmo/l and the top end of the scale is 700. I am
wondering about the raw glandulares you took ? what exactly were they if
you don’t mind sharing this information.
    Best Regards
