No Success

Sunday, December 28th, 2003

Hi, I am so jealous of all your success stories! I have read the book
and have been on the diet since September. I have gained weight and
my sinus problems aren’t that much better. I have had 11 major
operations on my back and neck and for the past 2 years I wasn’t
allowed to do any exercises (hope to start in December). I am 1.48
meters tall and have gained from 51 to 54 kilo’s in the past 2 months. I
really try hard. But because of the book I try to eat more regularly,
otherwise I feel very weak. Every morning I make a banana and soy
milk smoothie and I try to eat either fish or red meat every day. I have
also inceased my broccoli and spinach to at least 5 times a week. I
used to eat once a day. I do have energy, but I feel terribly obese.
Please help!!

Some probiotic info…..
D’Adamo 4 Your Type Probiotics
Dr Greg Kelly, ND
The term “Probiotic” means “in favor of life”. It was coined in 1910,
by a Russian physician named Metchnikoff, who promoted a theory of
longevity which associated prolonged life and improved health with
decreased gastrointestinal toxicity. He suggested that aging is a
process mediated by chronic exposure to putrefactive intoxication caused
by imbalances in intestinal bacteria and that this process could be
halted by the routine ingestion of lactic acid bacteria and their
“fermented” (”cultured”) food products. Almost 90 years have passed
since he introduced these radical ideas; however, in many respects his
ideas have been proven to be true. Consumption of lactic acid bacteria,
or food cultured or fermented with these friendly microorganisms does
extend life in animal experiments and does dramatically reduce a wide

Dandelion

Saturday, December 27th, 2003

<<Hi Juni,
Dandelion is good for your liver and it’s on the O “HB” list.
Roasted dandelion root tea is yummy! It’s often used as a coffee
substitute. I like to mix it in with Teeccino (another coffee substitute)
as I find blending the two gives the most coffee-like flavor.

anyone out there from Texas?

Saturday, December 27th, 2003

I know this is a diet related board, but I’m considering moving to Austin or
Houston, TX and would love some opinions and feedback about these 2 cities -
pros and cons; Houston is my first choice right now. Any health food stores
there and alternative minded people? Please respond to my personal email (not
really appropriate for this message board, just want to start somewhere!)
Thanks!

Milk thistle

Saturday, December 27th, 2003

I’m type O+ and love to drink wine most evenings; I know that milk thistle is a
very good liver protectant, but I just found out that it’s not good for O’s.
What exactly is the harm it does, and what other herbs are good for the liver?

Buckwheat

Friday, December 26th, 2003

Hi - I’m a new poster to this list but have been lurking for a while. Just
wondering why I never hear discussions about buckwheat on this list - it’s
classed as a Neutral-Beneficial grain - actually it’s a seed, but cooks and
tastes like a grain.I haven’t tried it, but I reckon it could certainly ring
the changes for those of us suffering from rice-boredom/overkill or trying
to cut back on grains.
I have some great recipes for buckwheat using the whole groats and the
flour. It’s meant to make a good breakfast dish (kasha), which I am going to
try soon - will post the list when I’ve tried and tested the recipes.
Any thoughts?

cheryl, who knows, maybe you’ve eradicated some of/all the damage from the
past!,,, I ate a diet that fully consisted of avoids for 39 yrs!… who
knows how much damage that caused… anyway we should all keep in touch with
each other because we may be outlasting our friends/family (who aren’t
ERers!)…. in health!,, Leslie
