- tho I do have a couple of comments.
First your OB should have been fired for telling you that you would have
a Down’s child solely based on the AFP … it is a screening test ONLY
not a diagnostic test. It just used to determine whether statistically you
have a higher risk of birth defects the ONLY way to be certain is amnio.
Though having a Level II ultrasound of the fetus has been preported to
provide almost as good of diagnostics as the amnio and without the slight
additional risk of miscarriage that the amnio brings. And there are many
things that can throw off the AFP statistics (wrong due date for one, and even
being overweight seems to skew the results) so its a questionable “test” at best.
 FYI There have been 2 recent articles
in USA today on this subject, andthe hepatitis B vaccine has been pulled from
the shelves because it containstoxic mercury.Â
The Hep B was pulled from shelves to be “reworked” because of a problem with
the presevatives (probably the mercury)… however, it is now available in the
new “improved” version. So you might want to update your account.
