Senna

Steve:
In the book, Senna is an avoid and in your table it is “unknown”. I
wish that would make it “neutral” but it probably is “avoid”, right?
Thanks, Teresa

New to the Diet and Group

Thursday, November 20th, 2003

Hello out there, I am an O- (duh) and was introduced to the diet by
my friend. I’m 23.
I had been doing protien power but stopped when I started getting
awful stomatch pains (I’m guessing now that it was too much dairy and
not enough fruit/Vegies). I like that the O diet doesn’t contradict
the high protien diets.
Also lucky for me my boyfriend is an O as well - so cooking for 2
seperate types isn’t much of an issue… yet. (She said dreading
Thanksgiving)
I’ve been having some health problems over the last year (Athsma,
sudden weight gain that the Dr’s brush off as me being more
sendantary that I have been in the past - which is not the case,
losing my hair etc) so I hope that Eating right for my type will help
with it… I’m deaperate and will try anything NOT to have to be on
20 different medications. (The good news is I finaly got a Dr to do a

Rice pasta help needed

Thursday, November 20th, 2003

It was one of these boards (sorry don’t remember) that recently had a
discussion about rice pasta. The tinkyada (SP) I believe was the brand
everyone is raving about as being so close in texture to wheat. For those of
you who have tried it:
A) do they have brown rice and white rice varieties
B) Are the brown and white rice varieties different in color (ie are the
brown rice pastas darker than regular wheat pasta). Hubby will not eat
something that doesn’t look like what he’s used to LOL. I was gonna get
spelt spaghetti at the store but it is sooooo dark I knew he would not touch
it.
Tabitha
Links would also be appreciated.

Your Kamut beer batter

Tuesday, November 18th, 2003

Hi Betsy in Miami,
I am glad you agree with the comparison to cornmeal and kamut. Thankx for
the batter recipe too. It reminds me of oriental tempura batter. As Julia
Child says, “Always have a glass beside you and drink whatever you are
cooking with to keep the flavor of the meal going”. But don’t drink cooking
sherry because that has salt in it. . .yuck! I use and iron wok for deep
frying as well. In the Chef’s Catalog there is a tool that you can “blossom”
an onion with and dip it into your batter and deep fry. WOW. . . is this
GREAT!
