Hypoglycemia

Tuesday, November 25th, 2003

Dear Colin:
My mother found out she had diabetes some eight years ago, so, in order to
explain her her condition I had to learn it myself. There is indeed a
dicotomy: hyploglycemia is the first level to further become a diabetic (high
blood sugar).
Forgive me if there are any mistakes, English is not my native language.
Hypoglycemia:
It means low blood sugar.
Your body uses a very simple form of sugar called glucose as its basic fuel.
During digestion, all the carbohydrates you ingest are converted into
glucose. The blood is in charge of carring this glucose to he cells to be
used as energy as needed. Every single cell of the body needs glucose at all
times, specially the brain cells. When the body has the right levels of
sugar or glucose in the blood, the person is energetic, has a good memory, is
relaxed and even-tempered. In sum, the person feels great.

Chocolate/Menstrual Period

Melinda,
I can’t give you an authoritative answer. My guess is that it might be as a
result of elevated hormones, i.e., similar to pregnancy cravings.

To Jerry about air flight

Monday, November 24th, 2003

Hi Jerry,
It was written: The only thing I do for ear problems on an airplane is I
hold my nose with my
fingers and blow to equalize the pressure…* * * * * * * Watch out doing
this action because on of our men did this heading up to the summit of Mauna
Kea (almost 14,000 feet elevation) and his ear drums burst and he almost
lost his hearing abilities. Aloha, CB

Hi,
I’m a PhD holistic health facilitator re-offering free 3 to 7-

allopathic medical and alternative healing approaches.
Email me at kosmik@… from your own email address
(not this BB, which I do not read, being a B+) and TELL ME WHAT
PAPERS YOU WANT (please do not ask to be put on a list to receive
future papers). I am too busy to send re-sends, so you will want to

This week’s offering: Paper 11D, Flower

A su salud buena! (Spanish for “To your good health!).

O and B in same family

Sunday, November 23rd, 2003

Tabitha, thanks for that information. So very informative! I love reading
something like that from a voice of experience. It’s easy to read the
technical stuff in the book(s) but makes more sense when I get information
from somebody living the life!
I’ve started incorporating things into our diet. I’ve switched us totally
over to Rice Dream and my 9 year old son drinks it and doesn’t even
complain! He let me know, in no uncertain terms though, that he does NOT
like soy milk, but rice milk is okay!
Now, if I can just get you to write up a “boot camp” of menus for the first
week or two of eating this way, I’d have it made! LOL

conflicting diet info???

Ok, now this is just my not so humble opinion about that “up to date” list
(and info on the net in general).
A couple of days ago on the dadamo.com site the maintainer of the list went
on a little rant about how he was not an expert on the matter and how people
were giving him grief on the inconstancies.
I figure it this way - if you have eliminated ALL of the avoids in the books
and still have trouble with the above listed foods - and when you avoid those
as well you are fine - then they are avoids for you.
Taking it by the numbers:
1. I avoid anything carbonated - too much salt and it makes me burpy - plus,
I hate the taste of plain seltzer water. Stick to plain ol’ filtered water
for me.
2. Scallions are usually (from my limited culinary experience) a garnish, or

“Bread”

Saturday, November 22nd, 2003

Hi, guys, I found this “bread” at Publix - The brand is Rubschlager,
and they had like 5 different kinds, but this was the only one
without wheat flour in it, and it is called “100%Rye, RYE-OLA
Sunflower Bread” - it is one lb., has about 10 VERY THIN slices in it
and actually, is quite good and chewey. Lots of sunflower seeds,
which are neutral for us. I had it for breakfast (toasted), with our
fruit spread on it, and also made half a “sandwich” for lunch. And
one really good thing was the cost, $1.59. It contains course rye
meal, water, sunflower kernels, salt, yeast adn calcium propionate.
Hopefully its not too bad for me, because the ezekiel bread is too
expensive on my budget. What do you think? Charlene in Sanford (FL)
