Week One Rambling

Ok, so I have finished week one on a bad note. Business lunch I order Veal
and Broccoli (instead of pasta). I get the two smallest peices of broccoli
and veal you ever saw … ontop of pasta. (No conspericy here)I had managed
to avoid the garlic bread… but in my hunger… and slight bordom because
everyone else was still eating… I splurged on the pasta.
Trying to be the optimist, This was the only bit of “avoids” From the Starchy
Pasta/Grain/Bread section I have had since starting.
Last night I went and re-examined the portions alotted. Ok, I have been
overdoing it with the rice. My Mantra for the next week is “More Salad, Less
Rice”.
It also hit me last night that this diet is going to force me to learn how to
cook. I could boil a mean water in the past, but if I’m going to stick to
this, I’m going to need to get a little more creative.
I’m still rolling snake-eyes on the soy flour ONLY bread recipies. (If I
wanted to use regular flour, why would I have bought soy?)

As my Mantra for the week is “More Salad”, I need a little help on dressing
them up. I took a look at all the dressings and Marinades in my fridge. If it
didn’t have vinigar in it, then it had Corn SYRUP. AAARRRRGGGGG. (No
conspiricy there either)
Anyone have any luck making their own dressing, or know of any O-friendly
ones on the market?
So it’s one week I’ve been doing ER4YT. I have noticed it has been easier to
wake up in the morning… though it has been harder to sleep through the
night (but it is that insomnia time of the year for me - I go through bouts
of this every Spring and Autumn). My acid reflux isn’t that bad… though I
have been trying to make my larger meal in the middle of the day as opposed
to night to battle that. I do however feel like I am retaining excess water
weight…. though that probably has more to do with me overdoing it with the
rice and yesterdays slip up than anything else.
In the mean time, my birthday is next weekend… My first aniversary is the
weekend after (boyfriend - not husband)… And I’m too young to feel this
damn old (24 next weekend).
I’ll just keep telling myself “More Salad”, till I get it right.

The closest thing to an 0 freindly dressing on the market (no vinegar,no
corn syrup) is “Annie’s Naturals” Organic Green Garlic Dressing. I have
seen it in stores both here in Canada and in the US.
I have also made the dressings in the CR4YT and find them very good.
Keep up the good work. It gets easier as it becomes a way of life. After
about five months I went off the plan this last month and I find it easy to
get back into. The difference in how I felt and feel was incentive enough.
