STRICT VEGAN DIETS MAY BE DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS AND

INTRODUCTION
Let me say before we jump into the heart of this matter that I believe most
people who claim to do well long-term on vegan diets do so because they
don’t follow their diets strictly. I believe those who thrive on vegan diets
occasionally consume animal foods containing essential nutritive factors. I
have come to this conclusion based on eight years of extensive postal and

Dear Julie, Bexley Coop is located at 508 N Cassady, North of Broad, heading
west the street before it is Cassingham. It is located just south of the RR
crossing on the right side as you are headed north. I started shopping there
before WO opened, now I go there for certain items that they carry that WO
doesn’t and sometimes for better priced items.
Feeding your nine year old, well what is it that he eats at McDonalds? I now
carry the white spelt buns and I let my 10 yr old O order whichever burger he
wants, then we switch the bun at the table. I usually let him have the kid drink
as well. French fries, he stopped eating those way before I ever thought about
a healthier diet. They hurt his stomach he said.
It would be great to get together. I am an at home mom, and school sub so when
is a good time for you? Email me directly and we can set something up. I will
think about the fast or quick food at home. I think more than anything it is
stocking up and having on hand what you need that is the first step.
Hope to see you soon. Sandy

recovering. Sandy

Monday, October 13th, 2003

Hi everybody,
I need some help. This woman contacted me as a result of a freezer cooking
list I am on and asked me to share my ER success story. I have shared my
story with her but she would like to hear from others. She has fibromyalgia
and chronic fatigue and is particularly interested in how ER helps you cope
with those issues. If you can help at all, please send emails to Janice
Couture at janco@…
Thanks,
Tabitha

better rice pasta

Monday, October 13th, 2003

Dear Tracy, I use a brand of rice pasta called Tinkenyada, I think this is the
spelling. It is made in Canada out of brown rice. My family love it, and I
have served it to unknowing family and then asked what they thought. They
couldn’t tell the difference. I have only one store in my area that stocks it.
When it gets low I ask them immediately to order more. The spelt pasta is
really good too, I just don’t tolerate spelt as well as I do rice. Good Luck.
God Bless, Sandy

pasta

I’ve found that you have to be real careful + read those pasta ingredient
labels… they may have additional wheat or semolina in them… it seems
that the er4yt pastas we’ve tried have been stickier/chewier than the
wheat/semolina pastas… I’m having trouble getting used to them so have
avoided them altogether lately!!
saw your message CB on unfermented soy sauce.. so, how do you get your
calcium? if not from soy or dairy…
Steve? where are you, are you en route to the US? Leslie

Tracie and Sandy….maybe we could all get together for lunch one day and

Hi Sandy! Where is the Bexley Co-op? I know where Wild Oats and Raisin
Rack are, plus I shop a lot at Northwest Natural Foods. There is also a
nice organic vegetable place at the North Market. What is the brand name of
the Amish made spelt bread?
Also, can you give me some ideas of how you feed your kids? My 9 year old
son is battling this WOE every step of the way, although I do have him
drinking Rice Dream now, but getting him away from McDonald’s and junk food
is very difficult! He won’t eat breakfast before school so I’ve been making
him “milk shakes” out of Rice Dream, bananas, tofu and a few strawberries in
the morning (sometimes we used Chocolate Soy Milk instead of RD) and he
loves that, and at least I know he’s getting something healthy to tide him
over until lunch time. He has football practice 3 nights a week, I have
school the other two, and we are always eating on the run. Any suggestions
for fast meals?
Thanks!
