Eggs, corn, oats

I am very excited about this news! I love eggs and they seemed like a
logical way to get protein. As we run across these new updates on the
message boards I hope people will post them to the list. I started to go
through some of them and was started to discover that some of the avoids are
on the the list only for people trying to loose weight. I’d like to loose a
few pounds but I’d prefer to start by adjusting to the diet and finding
alternatives for the serious avoids first. The two things that I ran across,
and please tell me if I’m wrong…
Oats are actually either HB or Neutral but should be avoided if you are
trying to loose weight.
Corn is neutral but should be avoided if you are trying to loose weight, or
have a family history of obesity or diabetes.
The biggest problem I still have is finding substitutes for dairy products.
Our only store which has a refridgerated health section sells soy cheddar,
mozzerella and pepper cheese as well as soy and rice milks but nothing else.

I’m assuming there must be soy or tofu subsitutes for sour cream and cottage
cheese.

    HI Ginny,

WISH! ! ! I miss eating corn on the cob because corn is a big avoid for
    O’s.* * * * * * * You also asked: I’m assuming there must be soy or tofu
substitutes for sour cream and cottage
    cheese.* * * * * * * There is a substitute for sour cream called IMO made
out of soy bean you can get from your grocery store. But as far as cottage
cheese, I haven’t found a decent tasting substitute for that one yet. Aloha,

I tolerate goat and cheese milk yogourts pretty well but don’t press my
luck, having it less than once a week. You can make an acceptable “cheese” by
draining yogourt through a coffee filter.
