emotional/mental benefits of diet
While I’ve only been on the diet a couple of weeks now I definately notice
that in the morning I am hungry and want breakfast. Previously I wouldn’t
eat before 10am. I am certainly more active, spending very little time just
sitting in front of the tv. Of course, now that I’m making my own bread and
other foods I don’t have as much time to just sit around. I am O+ as well. I
definately feel better on the diet. It is kind of fun go to the grocery
store go up the soap/paper aisle, go through the meat department, skip all
the other aisles and go straight to the health food and produce departments.
The hardest food we struggled with giving up is dairy. Not milk but cheese
and sour cream! I still haven’t been able to give up my one cup of coffee in
the a.m. but have no other caffiene or coffee all day long. It has been very
difficult since our community is so small (15,000) and we live on an island
that is either 1.45 hours by air or 9 hours by ferry away from any other
community. The health food section is about the same size as an average
bathroom. I would say that we are probably 80 - 90% compliant with the diet.

Dear Ginny
Good luck with the new eating plan.
I spent some time in Alaska around Big Lake area close to Wasilla during May and
June of this year. I have travelled to many countries and yet Alaska will be
the one that will always remain as the most wonderful experience that I had. My
friends from Alaska will be arriving in SA on the 14th of October and will spend
the next three months with me.
shopping at Carrs was just so wonderful for me as a South African as I was able
to find so many of the products there. Here in SA it is not that easy to obtain
all the OK foods for us and when we do manage to come across it - find that we
pay a fortune for it. I therefore try to make as much of my own products as I
can - rice milk, muesli etc using only ingredients that are OK for us.
Best wishes
