    Said Ted:
    Hi Ted,
Generally speaking (everyone’s different, but this seems to be true
for the majority of Type O’s), if you follow the program exactly, you
will lose weight. Assuming you have either Eat Right 4 Your Type, or
Cook Right 4 Your Type, you’ll see portion size/frequency in the Type
    O Diet food chart.
For me, losing weight is a real struggle. My body doesn’t cooperate.
My nutritionist took me off of legumes, seeds, starches and most
grains. Guess what? I’ve lost 6 pounds in the past week. At long
last!! Granted, it’s probably mostly water, but that’s okay…I’ll
    take it.
If you follow the diet exactly, and find that you’re still not losing
weight, try cutting back on certain grains and pasta. Those turn to
sugar in a Type O body.

Well, that’s my advice, anyway. :) Lynn

    Hi Mel!
I gained around 20 pounds since last December and it has been so hard to lose
them. I also had problems with my finger joints, acne in the chin, headaches
once in a while. I read a book from Pavo Airola about curing arthritis and
he recommends fasting for arthritis pain si I did a liquid diet to cleanse
the intestines. I did it for ten days and it relieved me from the pains in
the fingers, the skin cleared up beautifully, no more headaches and best of
all I lost 13 pounds! I think an intestinal cleanse is great to anybody to
start a weight loss diet. It also helped me find what made my face skin itch
certain days…I was allergic to eggs and I did not know until I did the
fast. I also noticed if I had any dairy I got a sore throat. During the fast
I was never hungry and I also was full of energy which helped me clear my
house of all the clutter the Feng Shui people advise you to clean of (my
husband was very pleased) and I had =enough energy to star taking 50 minutes
walks every day. After the fast I gained 4 pounds and I am watching very

closely what I eat, so I already lost 2 more pounds and I am working on
losing the last 8 pounds I need to (118 lb. is my goal). I feel great since
I cut all the wheat products, dairy and potatoes and I drink at least 8
glasses of water a day..I hope this helps in your search for the perfect
    weight! Teresa

    Hi Ted
It is also suggested that although oats and corn are the big ones for weight
gain for 0’s that if you are ill or want to lose weight you should follow
only the Highly Beneficial portion of the program. I keep telling myself
that this is what I am going to do, however have not yet got it together.
    It just may work!

Lucky you! For me that is 50lb gain, each! I have finally decided to give
up men as I can’t afford the wardrobe.

    Fasting with juices:
You must have a juice extractor and an enema bag.
Enemas during fasting are taken to help the body eliminate toxins and waste
matter from the colon and lower bowels. Use just plain water (I added a bit
of glycerin soap). Lay down on your right side when taking it and try to
rest for 2 to 4 minutes in horizontal position before evacuation. If you
need more info on enema please let me know.
UPON ARISING: One single enema, one quart.
8 A.M. Big bowl of vegetable broth.*
11 A.M. Cup of herb tea.*
1:00 P.M. Glass of freshly pressed fruit juice: apple, grape, pear,
    plum,etc.
Juice should be diluted 1/2 and 1/2 with water. I mixed
    2 or 3
    fruits. Better abstain from melons.

4 P.M. Cup of herb tea.
7 P.M. Glass of freshly pressed vegetable juice**
    9 P.M. Enema
Drink plenty of water when thirsty. (I had distilled water some 8 glasses a
    day.)
Without supervision (of expert on fasting) you can do this fast up to 10 days
and with supervision up to 40 days.
    VEGETABLE BROTH
2 potatoes (I substituted for rutabagas), chopped or sliced to approx. 1/2
    inch pieces
1 cup of carrots, shredded or sliced
1 cup celery chopped or shredded, leaves and all
1 cup any other available vegetables: beet tops, turnip tops, parsley, or a
little of everything. However, broth could be made with only potatoes,
carrots, and celery. I added fresh herbs too (rosemary, oregano or thyme and
    garlic as well).
Put all vegetables into a stainless steel utensil, add one and a half quarts
of water, cover and cook slowly for about a half hour. Strain, cool to warm,
and serve. If not used immediately keep in refrigerator. Warm up before
    serving.
Vegetable broth is one of the standard beverages in all biological clinics in
Sweden. Fasting patients always start the day with a big mug of vegetable
broth, a cleansing and alkalizing mineral-rich drink.
    **CARROT-CALERY JUICE
Take equal amounts of carrots and celery and wash well. Feed through the
juicer. Especially recommended in treatment of arthritis. You can vary the
vegetables according to your needs. About 1/2 lb. of each for 2 glasses of
    juice.
    HERB TEA
I used sarsaparilla but again use any herb of your choice. One tbs. for
every cup of tea. Bring water to boil. Put herb in the boiling water and
immediately lift the pan from the heat, cover and let stand 10 to 15 min.
Serve with natural, unpasteurized honey if you like.
It is advisable during fasting to continue with normal activities, but do not
do overly strenuous physical or mental work. Daily walks, even long ones are
recommended. Baths can be taken but avoid water which is too hot or too
cold. Fasting affects many physiological changes in the body. Increased
elimination of toxins through urine, skin, and lungs takes place. The body’s
healing forces will initiate great repair and health restoring activity in
many ways. All this physiological changes may occasionally manifest in
certain discomforts, such as headache, coated tongue, foul breath, dizziness.
These reactions should, however, give no cause for concern.
I personally had one day a headache and a very strong sore throat for 3 days.
Other than that it was great!
I know you will be surprised at the results and enjoy the experience.

    Gina
But don’t do this if you are a newbie to the program just starting. There
are examples in the front of Dr. D’s ER book of people who have gotten very
sick from going HB too fast and their body cleansing out toxins too quickly.
You may have some slight illness symptoms anyway (diarrhea, nose runs, etc.
everyone’s different) but no need to send your body into an extreme state of
crisis very fast for no reason.

I’m living proof of this. All I did was give up wheat, but that was
enough to send my digesting system spinning out of control. My
system was already “toxic,” which is why I went on ER4YT. But,
looking back, I’m afraid that doing it cold turkey could very well
have been responsible for the horrible gallbladder attack I had
(which I’m still trying to recover from.) Perhaps if I’d taken
things more slowly, I would be having an easier time of it right now.
    Detox is a powerful thing…

All you have to do is to try the food combining method of eating along with
this ER4YT diet and the weight will come off quicker then you think. Good
    Luck.

OK I know this is a late response to Ted’s question but I had to weigh myself
at home to be sure. I LOST 10 LBS. WHILE ON VACATION AND DOING ER. EVEN ATE
SOME AVOIDS. ALSO LOST 4 SHIRT SIZES. Many of you know I had a baby in May
and I’m still carrying around some postpartum pounds but this is the first
time ever I’ve lost weight while on vacation, where you have to eat out and
avoids are all around you. I combatted the avoids with extra exercise and
went grainless whenever possible. I know the fact that I’m nursing two
children will cause me to lose weight but I nursed before ER and never lost
weight like this (and no damage to milk supply either. Just another story to
show that if you do it as recommended the weight loss will come. Still have
about 40 lbs. to go but this is a major improvement.

  13. Seth Weeks Says:

    Just for fun…
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m always fascinated by the
“last meals” chosen by death row inmates. For instance, a guy in
Texas who was about to be executed asked for two hamburgers, french
fries, a chocolate milkshake, chocolate cake and… mixed vegetables.
If you’re going to die, why worry about eating a balanced meal? LOL!
Anyway, I thought I’d ask this group the following hypothetical
    (obviously!) question:
If you’re scheduled to be executed at sun-up, and the governor has
informed you that there was no way your sentence would be commuted
(so this is REALLY IT), what meal would you request as your last?
Please share your *ultimate* last meal request (ER4YT be damned) as
well as your Type O last meal request.
    Morbidly yours,
    Lynn
