TABITHA’S BACK and Ezekiel Bread recipe

Wednesday, August 20th, 2003

OK guys, I am finally back on receiving mail. It’s been an eventful summer
with the birth of the baby. We named her Emilee Elena, she was 8 lbs. 11 oz.
and 20 inches long. She is now 3 months old, 25 inches, and almost 15 lbs.
And her blood type? B positive just like her daddy’s (and just like I
suspected from all those B cravings I was having while pregnant). Everyone
is doing well and I have missed you all.
Below is an Ezekiel Bread recipe. You will note that Ezekiel flour and the
bread formula itself contain some O avoids. I have noticed the same on
packaged Ezekiel bread in the store. I would like to make my own at home
since it is HB for O’s. So:
(A)How do I get the right wheat or what do I do to make the wheat not an
avoid for O’s?
(B) What happens to the lentils? I thought they were an avoid too. Francesca
the Baker and Cook, are you out there? Can anyone help?
TIA,

Hi New to list

Tuesday, August 19th, 2003

Hi I’m new to this diet having just read about it for the first time today.
However I feel it may be beneficial to me so I’m going to give it a try.
I have a few questions though that I’d like to ask as I’m sure there are more
experienced people out there who can help me.
First of all does it matter if you are O-positive or O-negative?
Secondly Is there a place I can go on the web or does anyone have a list of
all the foods I as an O blood group person should avoid eating and which
foods I should definitely be eating?
If there is a list of foods I can look at it would be a great help as then I
can make up my own recipes. I’ve been to the website and I’ve looked at a
few recipes but the hard thing for me is that I live in Scotland and some of
the ingredients used in some of the recipes I’ve never even heard of.
Thirdly, I don’t eat fish apart from tinned tuna and very very occasionally
haddock. I try not to eat a lot of red meat although I do eat it at least
once a week and I survive mailny on chicken, vegetables and pasta. Will I be

Missing peanut butter?

Tuesday, August 19th, 2003

Try this as a substitute when you get a yen for peanut butter — mix a
little lemon or lime juice into tahini (the sesame equivalent of peanut
butter, but very runny). Stir as you drip in the citrus, and it magically
thickens to about the consistency of peanut butter. Add salt and/or other
seasonings to taste. It’s really good spread on raisin Ezekiel bread toast,
or maybe a spelt or kamut chapatti.

I use 1/4 teaspoon of natural progesterone cream, morning and evening,
but only after day 15 of my cycle, so I don’t suppress ovulation.
The reason I use natural progesterone cream, is the yam cream just didn’t
work. A few years ago there was what was dubbed the great “yam scam.”
Apparently, our skin cannot convert wild yam into progesterone…only a lab
can do that. The lab alters wild yam to exactly match the progesterone our
body’s makes, which is very beneficial. Yam cream does little more than
soften and moisturize the skin, but little to help with female hormone
balance. Before, when I used the yam cream, I didn’t notice much of a
difference. I’ve been using natural progesterone cream (Progest) for over 3

Almond butter

Monday, August 18th, 2003

Does anyone have a recipe for almond butter. I am missing my peanut butter
and the store bought almond butter is soooo expensive. I am not sure about
the amount of salt, etc ( if any) to add. Can you just throw the almonds in
the vita mix and grind or do you need oil, water?
I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

detergents..

Sunday, August 17th, 2003

ok O’s,,, here’s a different topic. Just looked at the ingredients on my
latest laundry detergent (Planet) and it has coconut oil based cleaners…
I’ve gotten some hives behind my knees and itchy ankles,,, wonder if that’s
why!… In the meantime I’m switching to Ecover which doesn’t have the
coconut to see if there’s a difference.
about 20 yrs. ago I stopped using Tide since I got hives from it. At that
time I became a Shaklee distributor and used their stuff which I never had a
problem with!
Have stopped using my massage oils - since 1 contained avocado oil and the
jojoba oil seems too scented. (since this diet, I’m more sensitive to strong
scents…same thing happened to me when I was pregnant… interesting?)
… anyway this is all intriguing … pls. shut me up if I’m asking too many

PieCrust/Salt IV/Lamb

Sunday, August 17th, 2003

Hi O’s!,,, thanks for the pie crust site Sherry!,,, Teresa, your Lamb dish
sounds good!!!,,, Kathleen, I’m going to have to buy some of that wild yam
cream!,,, thanks all for your thoughts on that sodium/saline IV that elderly
woman is on… think I’ll leave her treatment up to the docs… I bet it is
a dehydration issue…and sea salt isn’t going to help that any. On MSM…
the dr. (ND) did say that extra intake won’t hurt you… I’ve taken it for
a few weeks and don’t notice any particular differences but I didn’t have
joint trouble to begin with. but prob. will continue to take as prevention!
Have a healthy day! PS. tried Dr. D’s pumkin pudding w/tofu and wasn’t
too crazy about it,,, the homemade ketchup is ok but does miss that little
tang we’re used to !! Leslie

MSM

Sunday, August 17th, 2003

There is an interesting article at www.dmso2.com/news/msmcoburn.html
I think since we eat most of our foods cooked, taking MSM will help us fill
that void. I am going to give it a try to find out if the joints in my hands
get better with it. My intestinal cleansing so far it is a success: still
the little finger on my right hand hurts but the left hand completely is free
of pain. I am on my 6th day and feeling great! Yesterday I had a headache
though, but today it disappeared. I have lost 9.5 pounds and the energy level
is very high!
Have a great day “O”s!
