Hi,
Here in Winnipeg, I learned at my local HFS that there is a problem with
stevia being taken off the shelves in certain HFS’s… On the phone
with B.C., I learned that all HFS’s have been given a book with proposed
changes to regulations creating a third category, effectively removing
certain health food standards (tried tested and true as far as we are
concerned) and moving them over into a highly regulated zone from which
the pharmaceuticals and other big money interests can attempt to control
the flow of things… Highly unnecessary I would say — all in the name
of protecting you the consumer — but, hey you know that most of the
food that is being pushed out there is dangerous to your health, and
that while they might take something like stevia (which has meant so
much to diabetics and others with blood sugar concerns) off the shelf,
there is absolutely nothing to stop someone from buying and eating a
bushel of sugar.
But, back on track here: I received a phone call from a health activist
in Winnipeg telling me that the “Health Protection Branch” was coming
through the country and scheduling very difficult for the average person
to make meetings, supposedly to hear out public opinion. This is the
federal government floating the ideas proposed to them by large
financial powers. It is essential to raise a public cry in order for
the government to back away from these costly and ineffective proposals,
aimed at seriously limiting your choices for healthy living… If you
are in Winnipeg this Friday at 9 am or so, there is a public hearing at
the Radisson (formerly the Delta) at 288 Portage Avenue. The person who
phoned me was supposed to send me some e mail attachments about all
this, but I have not received anything as of yet. From B.C. connection,
I received this link: www.citizensvoice.org, and because all of this is
originating in Europe (Germany), and if you have heard of it, is related
to Codex, the links www.rath.nl and www.hans.org are also supposed to be
very informative…
I am sorry if this is too political a message for some in nature or if
it sounds too much like a conspiracy theory, but the word is that they
tried this in the U.S. and the public outcry stopped them, now they are
coming up to Canada (where some say the fluoride in our water helps to
make us docile!) I think you probably would like to speak for, or have
others do so, the right for us to choose how we keep ourselves healthy
and NOT to subscribe to the patch things up later on with drugs type of
theory that these others are banking on..
Anyway, I am sure to hear from you and what you think, and look forward
to it with pleasure.

P.S. Have not had time to do much with this information as of yet due
