Thanks for responding, Debra. Everyone must be busy with other things today.
I’m glad you’re not having problems with heartburn lately; it seems odd that
nuts could cause it, huh?
Hi, all. My e-mail system has been down for several days. It’s back up now,
but I’m not getting mail from the ER4YT list, so just wondered if you guys
are just being quiet today, or if there’s still something wrong with my
system.
Can someone please respond and let me know?
Hi group! your vegetable soup sounds good Lynn. I was at Trader Joe’s
this weekend and also came across the “good” breads! bought the spelt
($2.99) and it’s not bad –made an almond butter + honey sandwich w/ it for
my little guy’s lunch this morning!
Re: acidiphilus … I am definitely missing my homemade yogurt that I’m
procrastinating on throwing out from the refrig… is the Ethical Nutrients
version a good substitute?… I am/was convinced that yogurt was beneficial
battling yeast issues…
Re: Tums: is this best way to get that extra calcium we need? someone told
me 2 a day… any input on this?
Re: Carob: hmm Lynn on the fresh roasted! I don’t think I particularly like
carob either,,, are there any non dairy, good O versions of chocolate?!
Thanks again all,,, what an interesting group, I learn something everyday.
my husband is thinking I’m going a little overboard on the subject … but
that’s ok, I have a strong belief it’s the right way to go ! Feels right.

Hi Deb! I’ve run into the same problem…no pumpkins!
So, I’ll
be holding onto this recipe for fall, too.
I have just discovered leeks, thanks to the Type O program. It’s
very feasible that I would have gone the rest of my life without ever
having tasted them otherwise. I’m in Southern California, and we
seem to have them year-round. I used them to make vegetable soup. I
sautee 2-3 sliced leeks plus three cloves of freshly minced garlic in
butter, and then add a can of Health Valley no fat chicken broth, and
a can of cut, peeled tomatoes, and water. That’s my base. I cook
that on medium for a few minutes, and then add the rest of my veggies
(okra, zuchini, yellow squash, carrots, celery, green beans). It is
SO good. Mmmmm! I swear, it’s the leeks that make it so yummy.
What’s your favorite leek recipe?
I’ve been on a yeast-free, sugar-free diet to see if my system would
settle down (it has…interesting, no?) and I’m supposed to eat a ton

thanks for sending the sweet potato/pumpkin soup recipe,,, was that you lynn?
sounds wonderful. any easy way to peel pumpkin?
hope your heartburn is cleared up Deb… did you put any ketchup on that
meatloaf??!! maybe the nuts were rancid in that trail mix??
never tried leeks, will look for them… that saute is worth a try!
has anyone found carob that doesn’t have any corn in it? or chocolate that
doesn’t have milk in it?! healthy eating!! Leslie
Help!!! I have been suffering “heartburn” for 2 days now and I don’t know why.
For breakfast I have been eating a couple handfulls of homemade trail mix:
almonds, pecans, walnuts, with dried plums. Water. Yesterday for lunch I
chicken soup, very plain, although it did have potato in it. However, my stomach
was burning before lunch. After lunch I did have a bag of M&Ms, seems like when
my stomach is churning and burning like this it thinks it is hungry. For supper
I had a plain meatloaf and broccoli. Same breakfast of trail mix this a.m. that
I have been having for months. Burning before lunch. Lunch of leftover
meatloaf and broccoli. Started burning again. Been taking Tums. At home I
put a drop of Young’s Essential Peppermint Oil.
