An Overview of Green Tea as a Therapeutic Agent
From The April, 2000 issue of The Integrative Medicine Consult
Tom Wolfe, PAHG
Non-herbal tea is divided into three types, according to the method used
to
process the tea leaves. Black tea is fermented, oolong is partially
fermented, and green tea is unfermented. All are derived from the leaves
of
the evergreen shrub Camellia sinensis, which contain specific

Messages

Monday, June 16th, 2003

I’ve been reading all the great messages posted during the last few
days and wanted to say thanks for all the great ideas.
While I’m not altogether convinced that microwave ovens are going to
be the death of mankind, I do plan to buy a steamer and a toaster
oven. I also like the idea of turkey sausage for a pork substitute.
For breakfast I usually have cream of rice with some protien powder
and rice milk. I bought a can of salmon a few days ago and I might
try
having that for breakfast (with eggs) this weekend.
Actually being on this diet is quite easy and comforting. I have
generally been on it for quite a while. I just didn’t know that
wheat,
corn, and pork were so bad for me. Now that I avoid them and
I avoid excessive carbohydrate intake (desserts), I feel pretty
energetic all the time. Pretty neat.

Holly,
I usually eat puffed kamut cereal, or puffed rice cereal with soy milk. I’ll
sometimes have eggs with turkey sausage.

Heating Foods

Sunday, June 15th, 2003

After reading the article on dangers of microwave usage, I’m wondering what
the best and quickest way to reheat foods is. I usually eat leftovers for
lunch and heat them in the microwave. I only have 15-20 minutes to prepare
my lunch, then 20 minutes to eat it. For instance, today I had a hamburger
patty, fried sweet potatoes, and broccoli…any suggestions for a quick way
to reheat these items (without making the broccoli soggy)?
Thanks,
Nancy

Salad Dressing

Wednesday, June 11th, 2003

Which salad dressings are beneficial or neutral for type O’s? All I
can find is that blue cheese is bad.
Since I’ve been on this diet plan, I have felt great. Lots of energy,
vitality, etc. I went out for mexican food on Monday - had a few
handfulls of tortilla chips (corn). Wow, did I pay for it later.
