Symptoms / Beef vs. Poultry & Fish

Have things changed with the ER4YT Type O program since the books
came out? Throughout the cookbook, spelt flour is called for. Also
spelt pasta and spelt flakes for breakfast. It explains why spelt
does not have the same effects as wheat. If Dr. D’Adamo has changed
his mind about this, can someone tell me where to read up on it?
I struggle with eating any animal, believe me. If I could have a
total transfusion and become Type A, I would.

REC–Fresh Apple Cake for Diabetics WITH QUESTION

Friday, June 20th, 2003

Hi everybody,
OK, the recipe follows. My question is, does anybody know how much and how
to substitute stevia extract in the cake or the glaze. I’m looking for help
with the glaze especially since the cake is already done. I just pulled one
of these out of my freezer for my Dad’s birthday tomorrow and would like to
add the glaze. I understand that too much stevia makes a bitter taste rather
than sweet and I have a box in the closet but it does not say how much to add
to be the equivalent of a cup of sugar or honey. Comes in little packets
like Equal or Sweet N Low but is not aspartame or saccharin. The major
ingredients in it are STEVIA EXTRACT AND MALTODEXTRIN. Can anyone help? If
you have any ideas, please EMAIL ME PRIVATELY AT THE ADDRESS BELOW AS I AM ON
NO MAIL RIGHT NOW AND NOT READING MESSAGES AT THE WEBSITE.
Thanks,
Tabitha

Hi Lynn,
I haven’t tried any of the supplements yet, still trying to go the food
route, but I, too, would love to hear anyone else’s experience with the
supplements.
About eating red meat-I’ll tell you my story. When I was 19, I became a
serious vegetarian, and refused meat for about five years. I had so
convinced myself that it was poison (from all the vegetarian books I had
read), that I vowed I would never eat it. That was about the worst time in
my life for my health. I was so spaced out all the time, and had no strength
or energy or endurance. And that’s when my thyroid problems started.
Eventually, I began to eat a little chicken and fish, but never red meat. I
still didn’t feel very well, and developed more health problems. Finally,
now in my forties, I am eating red meat. And now that I’m on ER4YT, I’m
finally able to relax and know it’s the best for me. Every time I eat roast
beef, I feel the very best. I found a source for Bison, and I can’t wait to

lightheadedness and headache

Melissa, as soon as I made the decision to give up wheat, I was
positively shocked by how much wheat I had been consuming. All day,
every day. I threw away practically everything in my pantry and
started over.
I think I made the switch too abruptly because my resistance lowered
and I got the WORST stomach flu this past weekend. I should have
removed one thing at a time from my diet.
As for symptoms, my only complaint is that my stomach and bowels are
very noisy. I’ll by lying on the bed watching TV and all of a sudden
I start “gurgling” rather loudly. Anyone else experience this?
I’m getting the hang of the program, learning to eat spelt instead of
wheat, upping my veg and fruit intake, etc. I tried making my own
mayo but nothing tasted very good, so at least I switched to Hain
Canola Oil mayo. It’s not ideal, but it’s an improvement!
The one thing I’m unsure about is where it’s essential that I eat red

Adrenals ~ Gina

Oh…………….you are tired……….! For what it’s worth, in a book i
read by Dr. Abavanel, on body type dieting, he mentions that EGGS are ‘very
nourishing to the adrenals’. And they fit in with our blood type fairly
well. Not to overdo, but they may help sustain you. Hope you feel well
soon.

this is getting tedious

Without Prejudice,
Please, can everybody try to delete the unnecessary bits when replying to
this list? It’s getting so difficult to read the digests because of all the
repeated threads. Also, if you’re just saying a ‘thank-you’ to some one,
why not just place your pointer on their email address and do it privately?
Sorry to complain - I normally would not - but there are so many people who
are just hitting their reply button and not deleting the irrelevant text
that I felt behooved to say something.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. :-) Beth

Hi O’s,
Thanks for all the suggestions on calcium and milk substitutions. I
really think I’ve finally found the best diet for me, after years of trying
mostly vegetarian or semi/vegetarian diets. Every day I feel better. If
only I had found this in my twenties!
I was wondering if anyone has tried any of the North American Pharmacal
supplements. ARA 6? That one sounds good for the immune system. And I’m
not sure if Bladderwrack would do me any good, since I don’t have a thyroid.
In my twenties, I had hypothyroid, and then when I was 32, I had Grave’s
disease (hyperthyroid). I’m on total T4 rplacement. Went into early menopause
after that. Sherry, wanted to tell you I’m on natural hormone replacement.
Have you ever heard of Dr. Jonathan Wright? He is a pioneer in this area,
wrote a book called “Natural Hormone Replacement”, you can get it through
your library. I have read a lot about wild yam creams, and they don’t do too
much for you. Women need the progesterone USP. Have you ever read Dr. John

Green Tea

Tuesday, June 17th, 2003

I have been bad about staying on ER4YT lately, and have been drinking
coffee regularly. After I read the article on green tea, I made some
and drank it. I like the taste of some of the varieties, but it still
gives me a stomachache! However, with all the benefits listed in the
article, I want to learn to drink it!
Is green tea more acidic than coffee? Coffee does not give me a
stomachache.

Digest Number 285

Hi Hermann,
I am new to the type O list, and I read the article you posted on soy
with great interest. I have used soy products for years, and I, too, have
experienced side effects, but believed in the benefits out-weighing the
potential health risks.
Recently I realized I had to quit taking the soy protein powder, as I am
on hormone replacement, and I was getting many bizarre symptoms, thinking I
was on too much hormone. I stopped using the protein, and within a couple
weeks, the symptoms subsided. I have had a lot of the “brain fog” and
lethargy, and I am hoping that those symptoms will all go away, too. (Never
related this to soy!) I just stopped taking the protein about six weeks ago.
I’ve still been using the soy milk, but I will stop that too.
I was wondering what the source of the article is.
Also, I was wondering if you or anyone else would have any suggestions
what to use as a milk substitute. I’m wondering about almond or rice milk.
