Digest Number 230

Monday, May 19th, 2003

Hi, I have two messages here today. I have been thinking of mentioning this
first one to all the active members on this list for a while, even though it is
probably more the role of the moderator! After you ‘hit the reply button’, your
computer has the ability to delete any unnecessary words. All you do is
highlight the words that you do not need to send back and then hit your delete
button. That makes for a lot less scrolling through for all of us on this list!
Regarding the genes: I left it open for the “mailman” response. However, there
is ABSOLUTELY no doubt about the fact that this boy is his father’s son and he
looks remarkably like him in fact!

Loosing weight

Monday, May 19th, 2003

You know, I wonder with the 1/3 theory, if it has to do with what blood
type the parent’s were? Meaning that maybe if both parents were the same
as the child, then it worked well. but if only one parent was the same
type, it did not work as well. Or maybe if one opposing parent was a
certain blood type, then it did not work as well. It would be
interesting. Pam.

On the odd child with the A, is there a mailman around? Just kidding,
but it could be a thought. Pam.

genes

Saturday, May 17th, 2003

Somewhere on these lists I have read that we receive two genes, one
from each parent and that type A and B are dominant genes. So, if our
parents are type A and type O, and one parent is OO and the other is AO,
we might receive an O from each parent and be an O or an A from one and
an O from the other and be an A. This information was interesting and
led me to wonder. Then, yesterday I was visiting with a friend who is a
nurse by training. She is an O, her partner is an O, and their three
children are two O’s and one A! If the A gene were dominant, neither
she nor her husband have it as they are both O’s, so the question is
where did the A gene come from? Does this de-bunk this theory?

I use to take mega doses of vit E and my bruises took a long time to
clear up. Now that I have stopped taking vit E, I don’t have that
problem.
On the female home front, I don’t spot as much with my menses. Pam.

Stephanie what is this?

Thursday, May 15th, 2003

I first found it at my healthful store, I am fortunate because the
manager does this diet and her husband happens to be “O.” So she carries all
the stuff for us “O”’s. They are called Soy Sensations, and come in many
flavors, the only one we can have is chocolate fondue. Later I found this
same “bar” in the pharmacy area at Walmart and they are.97cents. pretty cool.
They aren’t as sweet as the “O” bar so I like them better. Hope it helps.

Ears

Tuesday, May 13th, 2003

I do know that sometimes when my allergies are acting up, my ears itch,
and I have to scratch them by sounding like a pig. It is hard to
explain, but I scratch from the inside with my tongue rubbing the top of
my mouth. It works. Pam.
