The boy with the different blood type

I was reading Dr D’s book today and came to the section where he wrote
about different blood types showing up. It is on pg 338.
In a nut shell, the boy probably picked up the different blood type
because both parents or one parent were carrying it. I don’t remember
the story, but were they all type O and the one child was an A or
something? So in this case, one or both parents also carried the type A
blood from their parents. It makes sense.
I am in a family where I am trying to figure my deceased parent’s blood
type. 3 of us are Os, and one is A, and one is an AB (she thinks). So I
figure one or both of my parents were not true Os. Pam.
