Fiber

Saturday, May 31st, 2003

Hi, all. I’ve just been ER for a little over a week. Before this, I would
have a bran muffin for breakfast every morning (made with whole wheat
flour). Now, I’ve substituted pumpkin muffins made with brown rice flour,
but I’m concerned about not getting enough fiber. That bran muffin was a
major fiber source for me. I have been feeling sluggish since the pumpkin
muffins (instead of energetic as I’d hoped to feel). I know I need to eat
more veggies and get fiber that way, but does anyone know of something high
fiber that I can add to my muffins? It would really help.
Thanks,
Nancy S.

Cliff’s free holistic health papers — Offer 1-O

Saturday, May 31st, 2003

Hi,
I’m a PhD holistic health facilitator re-offering free 3 to
6-page
papers (2 a week) on various health topics, usually contrasting the
orthodox allopathic medical approach and alternative healing
approaches.
Email me at kosmik@… (not this BB, which I do not read,
being a B+) and TELL ME WHAT PAPERS YOU WANT (please do not ask to
be put on a list to receive future papers). I do not send re-sends,
so you will want to print off papers of interest to you.
This week’s offering: Paper 1D, Holistic healing; emotional
stress
release; Paper 2D, The liver. [To save my time both papers are sent
because most requesters want both]

Another question

Saturday, May 31st, 2003

Does anyone ever post here? I have received next to no mail. I am new to the diet and am interested in hearing from other people about their experiences with the diet.

Question

Friday, May 30th, 2003

Hello, I have a question for everyone. I have been doing the type O diet for 5 days. I have a history of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Before starting the diet I had my bowel in good control no symptoms. After 5 days on the diet I am having problems with the IBS. Has anyone else encountered this? What did you do for it and do you have any recommendations. I find my stomach feeling really acidy now too.

Thanks so much.

Digest Number 248

Friday, May 30th, 2003

My husband is an O and I am an A. We discovered that oats are not a problem
unless you need to lose weight (my dh would like to gain). But, as to oats
being lumped
with wheat, I disagree.
Regarding food for the thyroid. The D’Adamo website has a product called fucus
or fucus plus which includes the exactly right type of kelp (bladderwrack), and
I have
bee very pleased with taking it to feed mine (thyroid).

foods to avoid? Split Mung Beans/Dal, Kombu

Friday, May 30th, 2003

Hello,
What is the status of the following foods for blood type O and can
you tell me where you found the reference:
- split mung beans (or mung dal as my Ayurvedic recipe book calls
it). I have not found the “split” version if it makes any difference
- rolled oats (vs. oatmeal or oat flour)
- kombu (a type of japanese? seaweed used w Ayurvedic cooking)
Much appreciated! :) /Douglas

Newbie-O Type.

Thursday, May 29th, 2003

Hello,I am new to this whole program. However, I have just finished Dr. D’Adamos’ book ER4YT. I find the whole premise fascinating. I am a registered Nurse by trade but am a stay at home mom currently. I found this info on eating for your type while searching the web for a dies that will work for me. I have lost 34 pounds and have 99 to go. I tried Susan Powter’s premise of eating and found that all the carbs made of wheat were terrible for me.

I also have had IBS for several years. I have had a thyroidectomy due to a chronic thyroiditis. And take Synthroid replacement. I also had a hysterectomy 2 years ago.

I started dieting Jan3rd. At that time I also started exercising regularly. I have found that while not motivated to exercise I really feel so much better after exercising.

I am looking for information, recipes, success stories. I have been following the type o diet for 2 days and feel really good so far. I think I’m really going to miss breads though and need to learn how to make Essene Bread.

Thanks so much.

Email forwarding

Thursday, May 29th, 2003

Hi,
Didn’t someone mention that there was a certain email address from which all
these forwarding capers come from, whether ‘help this person find missing
child’ to ‘this will bring you good luck’, etc. No matter what topic, the
point was, get people to forward forward forward, and it always came from the
same email address.
Well, would you mind showing me again how to check? My friends send me mail
that is sentimentally provoking, but i feel its just a manipulation from one
of these phony “alert and forward” locations. Would like to be able to check.
Thanks,
A little off the usual topic.
Bye for now

Hi Again,
This may be the exact page i found the statement on thyroid
testing……..near the end she says, may be 50% impaired when tests show
‘hypothyroidism’.

That’s what I Heard, Peter. It’s believable too, because of all the
testimonies of people complaining of thyroid symptoms, and still testing
‘normal’. I read that in a medical paper. It would tend to make a person
investigate their own thyroid more thoroughly if they feel hypo, but test
‘normal’. Sometimes doctors do not ask enough questions. They just love
that Synthroid, which is inadequate for some people. I looked into natural
medicine, and am happy with the thorough investigating the practitioners are
doing.
