Newbie
Hey all,
I have been doing ER4YT for about a year now. Only one problem… I grew up
in a family of As. We all assumed that I was an A as well. I am married to
an O. So, I was cooking meat for him and making vegan meals for myself.
The other day at the Dr’s office (as I was getting the regular slew of blood
tests for pregnancy) I learned that I am a type O. What a switch! Kind of
explains why I feel much better after going for a run, rather than going for
a walk, or why I prefer red meat and seafood to poultry. WOW. I am still
in awe of this. So, now it is my job to make a healthy and safe switch to
an O diet. I am in my 27th week of pregnancy, so I want to make sure I am
doing this safely.

Hi, I’m Sharon. I have recently begun ER4YT and am gradually trying to
adapt to it. I’m an O and my husband is an A. I already knew I had
trouble with things like wheat and corn and potatos, because I had tried
CAD in the past. This summer my blood pressure was just about at the point
where I’d have to begin treating it. My cholesterol was about 265. I’m
overweight and have arthritis in my spine and lower body, along with
Degenerative Disc Disease, IBD, and generally feeling rotten! LOL! So I
began watching my food intake to fix the cholesterol and blood pressure and
had great results bringing both way down without any medicine. I also have
lost about 20 lbs. Unfortunately, it was not fixing my intestinal
problems. I am hoping that sticking with the ER4YT beneficial/neutral
foods will eventually help clear that up.

G’day all
I’m new to this list, I have been low carbing for over 12 mths with
no results, here’s a quick history on myself.
35, married, 3 monsters (kids) aussie, work far too many hours a week
sometime in late 1999 I got stopped smoking and went on low carb the
same week,,,,,Say hello to 20 kilos! I was 78 kgs (sorry this is in
australian) and now I am at 98. The low carb diet stopped my weight
gain, but no weight loss. Over the last 6 mths I am back on about 5
cigs a day (yes I know!) a few extra on friday nights when I go out!
Found the book ERFYT and havent actually started anything as yet.
Hubby is blood B, I am O
So……..what do I do,,,where do I find some receipes, who has some
great daily eating plans?
I know this will be all old stuff to you, but some direction from you
would help me heaps.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Richard and I am a Newbie. I have been on the program for
about a day and I have a massive headache as I am writing this email.
It probably has to deal with the many years of eating wrong. As a type
O, I had several salads today , and I was wondering “what kind of salad
dressings could I eat? I am really perplexed by this quandry.

I make my own with extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar and
spices. It gets kind of solid in the frig, so you need to get it out
early to melt. Pretty perky with the apple cider vinegar, too!

Probably more from habit. I use one of those salad dressing cruits
that has the little line for vinegar, water and oil. I just do that.
It’s not much vinegar and more oil, 3x? Apple cider vinegar is the
only non-avoid vinegar for Os, right guys?

fridge - olive oil does not usually, I believe.

Hi, I am Reneé, Hilda’s friend. My email is not working at the moment, so I am
typing from Hilda’s one.
I am a secretor and have been on the BTD now since March this year. Because of
me wanting to lose weight, initially I cut out all fats, nuts, grains and sugar.
I also have candida. To my disgust, I have not lost anything, but picked up 4
kgs since then. It might not sound much, but to me it is terrifying as I now
weigh 68 kgs. My ideal weight is 58 kgs. I am not so strict anymore with the
grains and sugar, but I don’t eat any avoids.
Could someone please give me advice. I am desperate to lose some weight.
Thanks
Reneé.

I’ve just recently heard of the Type O diet. My husband is on the
heart transplant list and a friend gave us Dr. D’Adamo’s Blood Type 0
book. I have to be honest I read it and figured “Hey, I’ve done just
fine all these years - why do I need to change anything now”. I put
the book on the shelf but strangly it keep eating at me. I found
your group and have only read about 20 messages and thought
again “Hey, maybe there’s something to this”. So the book is
currently on the counter in my kitchen. I figured I might as well
give this a whirl seeing as I need to lose about 10 pounds and we all
want to feel better, right?! I see you can have Manna bread and I am
a bread baker but geez, this bread is pretty involved to make. I
love my bread for breakfast and I love my normal cereal too. What
kinds of cereals and breads do you folks eat? And I really have to
give up milk? I’ve never had green tea but I’ll be adding that to
my grocery list. Cheese will be a problem but I’ll deal with it.
Did you all feel overwhelmed thinking you had to change your way of
eating? The 2nd part of my problem is convincing my husband to try
the diet seeing as he has the most to gain. Now that I’ve totally
bored you all I’ll sit back and lurk and try to learn. Any tips
would really be appreciated. We’re glad to be aboard!!
TIA

I used to live on homemade bread and cheese.(Never felt good, duh) Now I eat
Ezekial bread(toasted) and just found some sheep feta cheese on a trip to the
big city. Yummy! wish I had bought more. There is also a spanish sheep cheese
called Manchego (prizey), it’s the best!
Eat cereal only of you want to gain weight, some people here go totally
grainless.
Green tea is real nice, coffee used to upset my stomach, that I had to give it
up even before I went on this diet.
Milk gives me sinusprobs, so never was big on that either.
Of course you’ll have to make the decision, if it’s worthwhile for you, but us
oldtimers would never go back to the old way of eating.
Hope your husband gets his transplant soon, wishing you both the best,
Emmi

That is so sad - it shows where we are on the evolutionary ladder.
These are no doubt are the dark ages.

I´ve been lurking in the shadows for a while, so I think I better present
myself. I´m male, 55 years, going on 18, and I´ve led a crazy life, as they say.
I have all the classic type O complaints: stiff joints, muscle pains, Carpal
Tunnel Syndrome( anyone out there been cured of this, by the way?) depression,
probably caused by hypoglycemia, probably caused by sugar/carbohydrate
addiction. Also, I seem to have some other symtoms that diabetics get, tho´ the
doc´s say I´m not diabetic.
The plus side is that I´ve been good at getting lots of exercise, 2 or 3 hrs on
my bicycle, 2 or 3 times a week. The problem is, I binge on carbohydrates after
a long ride, usually the wrong sort, and quickly end up feeling less than good.
Good advice from anyone out there with experience of endurance sports would be
appreciated. If I could even keep up with those half my age, ( Susan Forrester
!! ) it would be terrific. Anyway, I´m going to keep trying to zero in on the
BTD.Thats enough ear bending for one mail. Thanks for the good company. Regards,
David

Do the diet (don’t cheat), in a month you’ll never look back and most of your
complaints will go away.

Before going on the BTD my carpal tunnel syndrome was so bad that I’d seen a
surgeon and was trying to decide when would be the best time to have the
surgery.
Not expecting releif for the CTS from the diet, I was surprised that after
following the diet 100% for 3 - 4 weeks the CTS was completely gone. That
was 5? years ago.
It didn’t take long to find that wheat was the culprit. Even one cracker
will cause a tingling in my hand and a dinner of pizza brings it back full
force. It then takes a few days of no wheat for it to completely go away.
By the way, spelt has the same effect on me.
Hope this help… nancy

Hello there.
I am new to your group and just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 32 year
old mom of 7 (4 are foster kids). I am also a hypnotherapist and EFT
practitioner. I am fascinated by the ER4YT. I would like to normalize my
blood pressure and loose weight while eating a healthier “O” diet.
I have a couple of quick questions. Is there a good web site(s) someone could
direct me to for recipes for type O?
Anyone here married to an “A”? How do you do meals??
Looking forward to being a part of your list!

Yeah, I divorced her. Later I found out from ER4YT that, among other things,
she was poisoning me.
Seriously, I think Dr D is an A and his wife is an O. They fix base meals
with neutrals then add the O HB or A HB (ie stir fry vegetables then add red
meat for O and chicken/tofu for A)

Hello everyone,
I am new to this group, as well as the way of eating. I have enjoyed all of
your info, and have many questions. First, do you follow the reccommended diet
menus in the books, or have most of you found other menus that seem to work for
you? I have actually thrown up trying to eat the breakfast of fruit and Ezeikel
bread with the seltzer water juice combo. I think it was too much for me in the
morning—I usually never eat breakfast for this reason.
I have been basically eating this way, off and on for a few
months—Somersizing. My main problem with Somersizing was the food combining
. Do any of you feel the combining is an issue with ERFYT, as I was excited to
be able to eat a few grains, fruits ect. with my protein. I am not sure how to
start–I haven’t eaten a complete day as reccommended in the book. I don’t
think I have ever eaten that much food!
thanks in advance!

I’m guessing that’s “Low-Carb chick For Life”?
Or are you in florida?
Well, as good as LC *can* be for me…
I’d have to agree. Maybe moms with lovin’ in the oven need more? What if people
who are athletic need more energy in the form of carbs, too? I know it is easy
to go low-carb being lazy and casual, but I sure get boosted on high-carb into
high gear during the bouts of type O exercise I enjoy. I’m a secretor, which may
be something of a tolerance thing going on.
I’ve been following some of this group, lately.
I’m surprised no one’s really talking about the other grains, it’s as if all
there is is wheat and other gluten grains, rice, and maybe kasha (buckwheat)?
What about amaranth, quinoa, millet, teff? C’mon people! Anybody have any
awesome strains of ergot for my grain cultivating live-food experiments?
I have had a nice experience with “Power Factor” training principles. My
“deadlift” of 275 has really made me feel my musculature more, today.
