Whole Foods newest store
Hello all. Not sure if anyone is interested in this or not, but…
thought I’d share anyway!
Whole Foods Market just opened a store in Seattle last week and I went
for a visit yesterday. I got started a little later than I wanted, so I
got there about 1:00pm. It was a mob scene! I guess lots of folks were
doing what I was doing, just checking it out and doing a little
shopping.
The one thing I was really hoping to find was white spelt flour. There
are a couple of places closer to where I live that sell the whole spelt
flour (at a slightly lower price); but some of the CR4YT recipes call
for white flour. Well, they didn’t have any … just the whole spelt.
Bummer. I know I could order some from the VitaSpelt web site, but it’s
twice the price. Maybe I’ll experiment with other flours or see if I can
convince someone at Whole Foods to get some.
Their meat counter had a good selection, and they had veal!! I love veal
and haven’t been able to find any at the local grocery stores. I was
also hoping their frozen foods section would have some good wheat-free
selections, and it didn’t really. So I get to keep packing my own lunch.
But they did have some frozen spelt pizza dough! I’m going to get some
in the next week or 2.
I’ll probably discover more next time, it was just so crowded that I
didn’t get to explore quite as much as I wanted. But it was pretty
impressive overall and I got a free canvas shopping bag when I checked
out. Cool deal.
