Rice Milk

Does anyone have a recipe for making Rice Milk
without avoids or sweeteners?
Thanx!

Hi, my name is Betsy Stewartson and I am new to the ER4RT-O list.
I began following the type O plan about a year ago after reading so many
connections between type O’s and arthritis. I have been battling with
rheumatoid arthritis for four years, most disabling in my hands and feet.
Would love to hear any comments and experiences others have had with similar
problems.
I immediately dropped off 5-10 pounds and now a year later am 20 pounds
lighter. A lot of that loss was inflammation. My rheumatologist has begun
asking what I am doing, since she has not altered any medication, and I am
getting better. So I am convinced the plan is helping.
I am a “scratch” type cook, herb gardener (South Florida), and would be happy
to share any ideas, recipes, substitutions, etc.
Cheers,
Betsy

difference in O’s

I’m an O-. I’m wondering: what is the difference between being O- and O+?
I’ve read somewhere that the negatives benefit even more from meat in
their diet, but little else.

I’m Very New To This

Friday, January 10th, 2003

Hi,
I’m Rochelle. I found this community in searching the web to see if there was
a site for Dr. D’Adamo. Happily there is! A friend loaned me the ER4YT a week
and a half ago. I was so intrigued, I bought a copy of CR4YT. Wheat was kind of
difficult to give up as it’s in everything like corn syrup and cornstarch! I
work in a grocery store with a deli but it’s disheartening that most things
there I can’t eat.
I have noticed that since I’ve started this diet that I have more gas than
before. Is this my body detoxing?
Coffee was hard to give up to but it’s been nearly a week since I’ve had any
and I really like green tea.
I would be most happy to communicate with anyone on the subject. This all
feels very right to me. I am an exercise-a-hollic and I really don’t care for
dairy.
I don’t particularly like red meat…but my husband is a deer hunter and I like

Corn Syrup in ice cream and in frozen yogurt

Thursday, January 9th, 2003

I grabbed a Hagen Dais ice cream and it turned out to have corn syrup,
whereas some of theirs do not! I was so disappointed. . .I could tell with
the first bit as it turned out to be so sickeningly sweet.
And normally I don’t eat it, had gotten it for my husband and was going to
have a tsp or two.
My husband, who is not supposed to eat corn syrup either, as he is a B, ate
it all up! Next time I will throw it away!!
That damnable corn syrup is in everything.
The allergy doc’s nurse said that put it (corn syrup) in pharmacuticals for
people who have allergies knowing full well a lot of people have allergies
to corn. What gives, anyway? Oh, I forgot. . . .money!

OT - Vigorous exercise for O’s includes running

Thursday, January 9th, 2003

If there are any experienced or advanced runners (perhaps over the age of
40) on this list *or* someone who has used running to supplement another
event, who wouldn’t mind giving me some advice, please email me privately.
I need to alter my training plan and get more continuous aerobic exercise
and need some help setting distances and times given this is not my primary
sport.
Also, I have been given various formulas for base line training (anywhere
from 60% - 85%). For 30 years my groove heart beat was 143, **never seemed
to change much** )odd given my age continually changed (I wear a heart pulse
monitor) and I am wondering whether I should be training in a different
target zone rather than looking for that “bullet proof” groove.
Also, am wondering about the 10% principle, as I am crossing over from
another sport.
Thanx! :) Fay

hello, I’m Axel

Thursday, January 9th, 2003

Hello fellow O’s. I’ve been progressively following the blood type diet
for about three weeks now. It all started when I bought Dr. D’Amato’s
“Cook Right For(4) Your Type”. My first goal has been to get off the bad
foods. I’m finding that wheat, diary, milk, corn, and potatoes are the
hardest to eliminate completely because of their ubiquitous nature in the
American diet.
I’ve been doing Yoga and eating very little, partly because I recently
received the level one Reiki attunement. In this state of purity I have
found the blood type diet to be very true. I’m a believer.
I’m a 22 year old caucasian male.
Question: what are Anasazi beans to the O blood-type? Are they
beneficial? To be avoided? Neutral? They aren’t listed in the book or on
the web sites that I know of.
Question 2: are there any soft tortillas made that are wheat free (like
spelt, rice, or millet flour-based)? I haven’t been able to find any in my

Lurker

Wednesday, January 8th, 2003

Greetings everyone-
I’ve been catching up on all the posts the last few days. I enjoy reading what
everyone has to say. I’m a 34 year old male with 0 neg blood (the local blood
bank loves me :). My last year has been spent recovering from Knee
surgery and then elbow surgery to repair a ruptured biceps tendon. Needless to
say, I added 15-20 lbs that I’m trying to lose. I’ve modified my diet last
week when I got the book. My biggest problems were potatoes, peanut butter,
bread and coffee. Now that I’ve modified my diet, I’m feeling better, but I
felt pretty good to begin with. I purchased Kelp pills to help with the
thryoid and I also bought a bottle of Olive Leaf pills based on what was
written earlier. Will there be any noticeable effect from the Olive Leaf pills
that are suppose to kill parasites? I’m going to keep doing this diet for a
month and see if I notice any change. One thing I read was that we need good
exercise. Well, I lift weights 2-3 times per week and play/coach hockey, so I
think I’m covered with that. If I may ask, what does the Bladderwrack and 5-

Weight loss

Wednesday, January 8th, 2003

For those of you wishing to lose weight I have a couple of possible
suggestions to try. The first is obviously exercise. We are supposed to
need VIGOROUS exercise to be the lean people O’s are supposed to be. It
just has to be a priority. It is with me because I have such a bad back
that its vital as physical therapy. Another factor is water - drinking
plenty is important. When I had my second child I had so much water weight
that my feet jiggled when I was in the hospital and they told me to lose
that I needed to drink drink drink. It worked. How late you eat at night
is a big factor. Best not to eat anything except maybe fruit (and only a
few hours after eating anything else) into the late evening. I go by the
Fit for Life advice to eat only fruit before noon. I don’t work (or do at
home - homeschool and am in training to do Med. Transcription from home) so
this is easier for me - but I don’t get hungry for real food till after
noon. Your body adjusts to it. I make fruit shakes with my vita-mix. It
is your bodies cleansing period when it gets rid of the food from the day
