Off coffee for three days

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

Hi Sharon -
Thanx for the diluting idea. I will occasionally have a cup in the future,
as I occasionally have a glass of dry wine.
I did not experience withdrawal, but after having some almond butter in the
car I thought “Gee, this oily sticky stuff would be cut just nicely with
coffee and it would taste so good!”
I don’t know if I will ever get over missing the taste, so an occasional
diluted cup is an excellent idea.
Thanx

Reasons to not have coffee and food sensitivities

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

Hi Tom,
Good to hear from you again. Your comments are duely noted. I had not
had coffee for three days and went to get an herbal tea at the rink as I was
20 minutes early to give a lesson and wanted a hot prop to entertain myself
with.
Well, I didn’t notice that the tea had black tea, meaning contained
caffeine, and I got stomach cramps.
I decided to not drink coffee because so many people have told me that it
was not good for me, including James D’Adamo and his partner Dr.
Bier.
My adrenals must have been affected because for the amount of exercise I put
my body through I was feeling more fatigued than I should be.
I actually feel that I have a large amounts of meats and vegetables to
choose from and with occasional pieces of cheese along with a huge amounts
of supplements, I am not too restrictive yet.

Chocolate with no corn syrup

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

There are *some* Godiva chocolate bars without corn syrup
and *some* Ghiradella chocolate bars without corn syrup,
but read the labels.
There are some Dove chocolates without corn syrup but that brand
didn’t seem to agree with my stomach for some reason.
Some Hagen Daz ice cream has corn syrup and some flavors do not.

Chinese food

Saturday, January 18th, 2003

I love Chinese and I had to have them steam everything with no oils or
sauces.
They always seem to use corn starch for thickener.
I have asked countless Chinese places what oils they use. . .
corn oil or peanut oil — both avoids!!
Good luck!!!

[Fwd: introduction]]

I’m going to try this again. I had to re-sub to the list; since my
domain was ibm.net when I signed on, and it changed to attglobal.net. I
was still receiving your messages but it wouldn’t let me send. Arrggh.
Hello all. I’ve been on this list (lurking) for a couple of weeks now.
My name is Cia, type O+. 39 yo female. I live in Seattle, WA
I’d been on the Atkins / high protein diet for a couple years, and
managed to lose about 20 lbs. (I’m 5′2″, and was up to 165, yikes!) I
got real tired of counting carb. grams; and really hated giving up bread
and pasta forever. So I sort of went on & off the low-carb way of
eating.
At the beginning of ‘99 I got a pilates performer, and have been using
that pretty religiously since. Didn’t lose more than a couple pounds,
but I’m much more fit than I was. Then a few months ago I got the
Suzanne Somers diet thing, which is basically food combining. No carbs
with your protein/fats, except veggies (but no fat with that combo.), or

Digest Number 69

Thursday, January 16th, 2003

Hello,
My name is David and I have been on the ER4YT diet for two weeks. My
question is: Are marshmallows and artificial sweetners alright for type O?
Any knowledge you share on these two items will be appreciated.

Caffeine

Wednesday, January 15th, 2003

I too have been trying to give up coffee, but the key for me is to
substitute it with something else. I make green tea in the coffee pot at
home, but I find that I drink Decaf coffee all day long at work as a way of
focusing, or calming down after stress. I need to have the green tea option
also at work, but I worry about all the caffeine in green tea. Is it really
beneficial, or should I find a decaf green tea? Thanks

Reasons to not drink coffee **

Wednesday, January 15th, 2003

Need some support from you all on the list.
Well, after giving it a lot of thought, I have decided, as of today, to not
have coffee.
I will give myself a month to see how I feel. I don’t want to make it any
more long term, as the longest I have been able to quit during my life has
been six months, so I thought I would take it a month at a time.
I have been on ER4YT for a year and feel this is the only damaging chemical
that I am still consuming.
If folks would please post the reasons that I should refrain and/or why
coffee is not good for one, I would really appreciate the support.
I plan to tape the list to my refrigerator door and my bathroom mirror to
interrupt any impulses to make it or go the coffee shop.
Thanx!
Fay

Help, New to er4yt

Wednesday, January 15th, 2003

I am new to er4yt. I bought the book on my Doctors orders. I am a type o,
and I do not know how to do this. I am a fast food junkie and do not cook.
I need some help getting started. What do you eat for breakfast without
drive thru? I know that may sound funny to you, but that is my current life.
So. Please tell me some simple menu’s for breakfast, and possibly for lunches
to carry with me. I would tell you my current diet, but your all would
probably get sick just hearing it. Thanks for any help you can give me.
