What cuts of meat to buy . . .
Hi Terry!
One of my favorite things to do is to get about 4 lbs of ground lamb and
cook it up in garlic and olive oil as patties and freeze them individually.
Leg of lamb does great in the crock pot for about 6 hours on low. . .do not
overcook.
Also, the “shredded” long flat strips of sirloin tips saute up in olive oil
(and garlic!) very well.
I like to buy large roasts and do them on low in the crock pot.
Rib Eye steaks and Fillet are amoung my favorites.
If you don’t want to risk ground hamberger, you might try ground sirloin.
Has a good flavor. So do T-bone steaks.
I usually take one day every week or two or three and do all of the meat,
wrap in up individually and freeze it.
The I “nuke” in the microwave for 1 minutes and throw it under an ice bag in
my little cooler for traveling around town.
Usually you can get the meat cheaper when in quantity and when on sale so I
watch for both.
Beef and Turkey freezes very well. Turkey is also and is easy to make.
Just throw the bird in the over after washing it and turn it on 325 degrees
and go for away for several hours.
Speaking of turkey, I really miss dressing and will try it will
Ezekiel bread!
