[Fwd: introduction]]

I’m going to try this again. I had to re-sub to the list; since my
domain was ibm.net when I signed on, and it changed to attglobal.net. I
was still receiving your messages but it wouldn’t let me send. Arrggh.
Hello all. I’ve been on this list (lurking) for a couple of weeks now.
My name is Cia, type O+. 39 yo female. I live in Seattle, WA
I’d been on the Atkins / high protein diet for a couple years, and
managed to lose about 20 lbs. (I’m 5′2″, and was up to 165, yikes!) I
got real tired of counting carb. grams; and really hated giving up bread
and pasta forever. So I sort of went on & off the low-carb way of
eating.
At the beginning of ‘99 I got a pilates performer, and have been using
that pretty religiously since. Didn’t lose more than a couple pounds,
but I’m much more fit than I was. Then a few months ago I got the
Suzanne Somers diet thing, which is basically food combining. No carbs
with your protein/fats, except veggies (but no fat with that combo.), or

veggies/proteins/fats together. Most fruit allowed, but with special
timing. I did ok with that, managed to lose a few pounds, not much.
Which is the long way around to how I discovered ER4YT. As part of the
Somers thing, a couple mornings in a row I had whole wheat toast or a
whole wheat bagel. (Hey, whole wheat is supposed to be better for you
than that bleached stuff, isn’t it!!???) Very quickly afterward I
started feeling major anxiety. But when I had lunch (protein & veggie)
I quickly felt better. Hmmm… I finally realized maybe I had a problem
with wheat.
I went into a health food section of a local store, looking for info. on
wheat-free recipes. The woman asked what my blood type was, I told her,
and she pointed out the ER4YT book; noting that wheat isn’t a good thing
for O’s. Wow! So I left, and went back later and bought the book.
That was about 4 weeks ago; and in some respects I already feel a lot
better. I haven’t cut out all of the avoids yet (like coffee & mayo. –
tho mayo. isn’t an everyday thing). But no wheat at all. My scale
doesn’t say I’ve lost more than about 3 pounds, but my clothes feel like
it’s been more… maybe the scale will agree eventually. And the best
part, no anxiety attacks!!!
Glad this list is here, I’ll probably jump in now & then now that I’ve
said hi!
Cia
