Digest Number 69

Hello,
My name is David and I have been on the ER4YT diet for two weeks. My
question is: Are marshmallows and artificial sweetners alright for type O?
Any knowledge you share on these two items will be appreciated.

    << as far as marshmallows
I bet that marshmallows contain corn syrup as well as sugar. I don’t know
    for sure.

    Sharon,
I was thinking that marshmallows had corn syrup. It seems like just about
everything has corn syrup if not wheat, milk & cornstarch. Sigh.

One could make their own marshmallows, they would only contain gelatin and
sugar, and whatever flavoring desired.I have a recipe somewhere…..

    Hi Rochelle,
I think that most confections, candy, jams, etc. have corn syrup in them.
You really have to read the labels on everything.

Boy, I guess! I was looking for some pure fruit spread (can’t call it jelly
or jam) to use as an occasional treat on my Ezickel bread. And guess what,
most of them had corn syrup. No sugar, but snuck in the corn syrup. What a
bummer. It is so important to read the labels, even when the print is so
tiny that you can’t make it out. I sometimes have to bring a magnifying

glass (old eyes! LOL). And if I still can’t be sure, then it stays on the
shelf. I so crave carbohydrates that I don’t want to sabotage myself
accidentally with an avoid or even hidden sugars. If I give in, I want to do
it knowingly and on my terms, not to be tricked into it.

Dear Robin…I buy the jam at my local health food store..I have never looked
in regular type grocery but have seen it advertised in
    gift/housewares/plant/furniture type store.
Here is the info on the jar…I usually buy the pineapple and have just tried
the blueberry….Sorrell Ridge Farms, Port Reading New Jersey,
07064….sweetened with grape and pear…regular price 2.70..I get it for
2.19 and have seen it advertised for 1.79.
