Hi from New Member

Hi, I am sort of new to all this and just joined this list today. My name
is Aikya. It rhymes with “Like ya.”
For years I have been struggling with one health matter after another. A
range of digestive and respiratory symptoms occurred over time that sapped
my energy, made me depressed, resulted in weight gain and difficulty losing
that weight. I tried macrobiotics but that quit working well when I moved
to a hot climate. I tried ayurveda. Then my doctor moved out of state and I
couldn’t consult with him any more.
All my life I’ve had blood that was slow to clot. I had become convinced
that I was hypothyroid. I fixed it by eating lots of seaweed when I
followed the macrobiotic diet. Blood tests never show the problem. Drives
me crazy.
Recently, I had been getting more and more worried. I could barely get
through my work day, never mind do any of the creative things I love due to
fatigue. I was 50 or 60 pounds overwieght. I woke up every morning with

songested sinus and had frequent swollen glands and ear infections. I was
quite convinced that my spleen and lymph systems were not at all happy and
had sufficient pain and discomfort to wonder if I had gall bladder disease.
Two weeks ago a friend gave me Dr. D’Adamo’s book “East Right for Your
Type.” I’m a type O. I’d been a vegetarian for 2 decades but recently had
noticed that conditions I seemed to suffer were related to protein
deficiency and that, like it or not, it didn’t seem that my body was
digesting the grains and beans, grains and milk regimen. I had started
eating meat. I already had identified black cherry juice as my health
elixir and other ER4YT suggestions were familiar. However, I was having
cracked wheat cereal DAILY for breakfast and enthusiastically consuming
dairy. I’d almost never eated a fig in my life.
I am trying the diet now for two weeks. The sinus congestion disappeared
the first week. Energy is slowly increasing. My expectation is that it
will take some time to get rid of the accumulated toxic trash that eating
foods to which my body strongly reacts has created. Especially after
vigorous exercise, my liver (or gall bladder) and kidneys hurt. This is an
improvement over exhaustion after exercise which would take 2 days to
subside. That was the scenario prior to trying ER4YT.
Prior to starting the regimen, I had just gotten a bicycle and have been
riding it when I could to build up enough strength to be able to use it to
go to work partway. It is really helping a lot. Next week I will try using
it as partial transport. I may not be able to do it every day all week
long. Also, soon I won’t be able to use it because our rainy season here in
California will be here. Still it will be beneficial.
I find myself going food shopping a lot since I consume large amounts of
vegetables and fruits and then need more. I get tired of fixing my lunch to
bring to work by Thursday and have had a hard time figuring out what I can
eat “out”. Some of the combinations Dr.D’Adamo recommends can’t work for me
like soy products (milk) and fruit. But I’m quite hopeful. I just got the
cookbook which should provide some new ideas.
I am happy to have a group of people to exchange ideas with.
Aikya
